Bought a Kindle years ago but it rarely gets used these days. Was useful when I was commuting up and down the railways but since then just preferred the real paper and ink deal.

Im not the speediest of readers but probably get through a couple of books a month. mostly historical fiction/non-fiction or sci-fi/fantasy stuff.

Just about to get stuck into a few Alistair Maclean novels (Where Eagles Dare, Guns of Navarone..)

Anyone read the Inspector McLean series of books by James Oswald?

Edinburgh based detective with a touch of the paranormal about them - well worth a read if not already done so.

Last book of the Uthred of bebbanburg "Last Kingdom" series has just been released - looking forward to reading it but also disappointed that it's the last one of what has been a brilliant series of books.

Just started "The way of all flesh" by Ambrose Parry which is a pseudonym for a joint collaboration between Christopher Brookmyer and his wife Marisa Haetzman.

Set in Edinburgh in 1840 around medicine and murder. So far so good.

Aberdeen city features in a lot of his standalone books in the Jack Parlabane series and it's not overly positive either!

Reading the latest Ian Rankin / Rebus book "A song for dark times".

Another excellent installment of the globally acclaimed Edinburgh Detective Series.

Well written, good story and all the usual characters - well worth a read.

John Niven's books are fantastic. Straight White Male is a great read.

Just finished Barbed Wire Kisses, a Jesus and Mary Chain bio.  Worth a read. 2 for £6 at HMV. 

Now half way through Louise Wener's autobiography.  Liked to ride her bandmates. Good lass.
