To suggest a relegation would be a trade for another Scottish Cup?... FUCK THAT!

Maybe if you’re Hibs who hadn’t won the Cup for  114 years, then I could understand it.

The only reason I'd be happy with a relegation on my clubs cv would be that it would afford me the opportunity to get to different grounds we don't normally go to and also different pubs in those towns.

Wouldn't be quite so bad if it was only one year. 

But they've had several spells in the lower divisions, including one spell which covered successive seasons. 

That's just too much to trade for a solitary extra cup win.

I've seen us saved from relegation on a technicality. It was fucking embarrassing. 

Our record in the Scottish Cup isn't good enough, especially when Celtic were no great shakes and all 3 of sevco, Hearts and Hibs were in the Championship at one point. But winning that in no way would make up for taking the drop.

To be clear both technicalities (ground requirements and league expansion) were in place prior to the league beginning.  On a scale of technicalities used and abused in Scottish football ours don’t even register on the bullshitometer.

100% and no I wouldn’t have traded it for a cup either.  I think the mistake some are making is to compare Hivs singular cup win with the 20 years we had, not the 20 more positive years we potentially could, arguably should, have had.
