Come on, that first sentence..

Nobody wants him gone because he won't finish ahead of Celtic or Rangers. Nobody.

There's a myriad of other reasons all conveniently ignored by the press and pundits.

Hughes wasn't even aware that we'd finished 2nd 4 times on the spin, he'd said we'd finished 4th, 4th, 4th, 3rd. He can't even put up a proper defence of his mate coherently

I don't think he can tie his shoelaces

A good few clichés rolled out here.

What a load of nonesense. 3rd biggest wage and whoever wins the League CUp this year will have the same or more trophies during McInnes's tenure

No one expects us to beat Celtic/Rangers every time, just want us to put up a fight, which so often we don't.

The love-in for McInnes is mental; how dare we want half decent football and to at least somewhat challenge for trophies, something we aren't doing under him

Biggest mistake for the man yes I agree.  For the club it was (understandably) letting his legendary stubbornness and belligerence blinker him from what we all saw unravelling in front of our eyes.

With the benefit of hindsight, it was an act of sheer folly to bin Smithy in 92. We were majorly hamstrung with injuries that season, Bett, Eck, Theo etc etc

Son of Dick panicked and exacerbated  matters by bringing in a clearly underprepared and inexperienced Willie Miller.

At the very least, Smithy should have been moved upstairs into a DoF role, maybe with Miller working under him.

People rave about those 1st two seasons under Miller. 92/93 was good but my memories of 93/94 were of a lot of hoofball. 94/95 was just a mess.

Then Dick Jnr promotes Roy fucking Aitken.

Might be exaggerating it a tad to say, but 29 years ago next month marks a major blot on AFC’s history. Been, in the Main, shit ever since.

Smithy pisses all over McInnes.

Thats the problem with Scottish football, absolutely no ambition outside the Cheeks. You should pay your money to watch what ever shit is put in front of you and be happy about it.When all the Mcinnes Lovers are going on about how lucky we are to have him none of them mention the shit football his Teams have played for most of his managerial career or the fact that he has the 3rd biggest budget and managed 1 cup in 8 Years. His current team cannot even beat the St Mirrens, Hamiltons and Ross Counties of the world.

History isn’t good for when Aberdeen fans protest and want manages out.

I’d say apart from the last couple of seasons the football that was played wasn’t that bad. But since start of last season it’s not been good enough. I thought things were looking up from September to November. Never realised at the time how much we would miss Watkins

Wait, people are saying now they don’t want us to “split” the old firm?

I hate that expression but.....really?

Not that it's not what people want, just that it's not a reason why people are fed up with McInnes.

Hayes and McGinn got us up the pitch fast - we were an effective counter attacking side. That went with McGinn to Korea and Hayes to Celtic and never came back. Watkins brought about a different type of tthreat by bringing the midfield up the pitch. We have neither threat right now

Spot on.

McInnes is really a counter attacking manager.

Which is hard to do when you've got slow players.

He has said in the past that he believes games are won and lost with set pieces, he always waffles on about as having good size or needing more size. Hoof ball football is his mantra

It’s statistically true that most goals are gained from set pieces. This as a result of being able to work on and practice set routines.

‘It’s why you see players standing offside ahead of the kick to provide a target area and why the touch the ball before kicking in. It’s all aligned with timing and movement patterns. Not that you can see much evidence of it standing out this season, nor means that you have to hood the ball in order to gain territorial advantage.

‘The football has been in the main, very poor with the odd exception. Time for a new, fresh mentality to stir things up.

3rd biggest budget in the league,  and gormless simpletons like Hughes think they can have a go at Dons fans for not being content with 4th place finishes,  horrific football,  early euro exits and a LC win against lower league opponents every 20 years?  We're supposed to be happy with getting scudded by Celtic at Hampden every season,  just because, you know,  at least we got a day out in Glasgow?  Scottish fitba can fuck off.
