To be fair to the Council that was hardly a site before the hotel went bust.

Great location but I have my doubts if it is big enough

Of course it's big enough.

It takes in the hotel grounds ,the links where the circus normally sets up,they said they are willing to move the transition climbing centre as well.

Also I presume the kids swings and chute at the front would be moved as well.

When you see how small an area Brentford have squeezed their cracking (if a bit quirky) new stadium into.......I'd have no worries about it

@Dad is filing an objection to this as we speak

Yea am taking that whole area. Park, grassy patch, hotel. I still think it will be tight and will require bannermill flats to be blocked of sun light.

The road could always be built over, removed completely or redirected.

There's plenty of room if you include the area next to Codona's.

Take down codona’s and move it to the empty land at the bridge of don.  There would be objections from residents in banermill and constitution street  with a stadium on their doorstep,  it would drag on like kings ford.

FWIW make sure fans are involved in the design, inside and out. We left ours to an architect who specialises in extensions, an old woman, and her brother, who supports our biggest rivals. Surprisingly it was somewhat of a fuck up.

Some fans say it's all about the team on the park, who cares about the stadium. But players are here for 2 seasons. The stadium for a lot longer.

Seat designs. Jumbo scoreboards. Statues. Corporate facilities. Bars. Changing rooms. Dugout designs. All matter and in my experience fans know best. Not suits.

Brilliant replica of a 60s city council office though

It'll never happen at the beach unfortunately

Was expecting Cormack to kill that dream in his latest Q&A but he seems to not be fully ruling it out.

The problem now is that so many people have been sold on a better site that going back to ' All for Aurora' would  seem even worse than the first time.

Interesting that every poll show 'Aurora' firmly in last place as a preferred site.

Aye, but the goalposts have been changed by the council here, after the club were already halfway through implementing their original plan. The club have been put in a tricky position here now.

I really don't think it will be happening down at the beach either unless the council are going to chip in towards it, and going by the 'help' they've offered the club in the past that seems unlikely.

And even if they do, their track record in just about everything ever would suggest they'll be in no position to get going with this masterplan for the beach any time soon. And we aren't going to have any money to build a stadium anytime soon after Covid.

Only a year out of council elections? 2022 I think?

It was that (thankfully) that put a stop to Loriston Loch wasn't it?

He can't dismiss it out of hand - it would a be PR disaster. After all it is a better location - so he has to show willing. The fact that its probably a non starter doesn't come into it.

Marie Boulton knew full well what she was doing - nothing should have been said until the council are in a serious place to be able to deliver (and thats assuming there is a serious intent on this which I'm very doubtful of) , but that wouldn't have suited her purposes.

The way he vigorously masturbated over Kingsford made me think he really would have just shunned the new proposal straight away. Glad he didn't of course.
