Reed or Deed talking absolute shite again. Obviously hasn't got a clue about snooker. Ronnie O'Sullivan is treated like a god in China, because he's the best ever. The top British players play in places like China all the time and still hoover up all the silverware. Doesn't matter where the events are held, the best players rise to the top, and the best players are mainly British.

Snooker has been a phenomenon in China for over 20 years now, millions of players, and they still haven't produced a world champion. I think it's because they've got terrible eyesight.

The point that was made was that the world championship (and other triple crown events) should be held elsewhere too, as snooker is not exclusively english.

Ronnie O Sullivan does not receive the same level of supporf in china as he does in england during matches.

Is it unfair that 3 of the golf majors are in America every year, or the 4 tennis slams are in the same countries every year? There's a lot to be said for history and tradition in sport.

The majors in golf are split between America and Britain and Ireland. 
 

The tournaments are called the US Pga / US open / the Masters.

The British open.

It’s the same in tennis (note the US, Australian and French in the titles)

That’s why they are in those countries.

The events in darts and snooker are called world championships - not exclusively English.

It’s totally different.

There aren't world championships in golf and tennis though are there? The majors and slams are the nearest equivalent, and they're always in the same countries. The snooker world championships always being in England didn't stop Hendry and Higgins winning it 11 times did it? Stop yer fuckin whining.
