Talk of him doing well at us and then playing top end Championship or even Premier League. I'd like to see him again as one of a centre back pairing in a traditional back 4. Link to comment

Hayes in no mans land and leaves his man, Surprised at Brian Irvine on commentary putting the blame on Hoban when you can clearly see county played three up top on our back three and our wing back didn't track the midfielder. Hoban is more than capable at this level and has probably played more games than anyone would of liked, we need better options in and around him and options to give the guy a bit of a rest, to go from playing next to no football for about 2/3 years to playing two/ three times a week constantly, plastic pitches and terrible grass pitches, it can't be easy for him . Wasn't Hayes going forward expecting ferguson to be able to manage a simple pass forward? Hoban was all over the place today and actually a few times has performed poorly overall. It must be a burden playing in a back 3 with Taylor and Considine, with the additional pressure of not knowing which Joe Lewis is going to turn up. Link to comment

We all know Ferguson can't make a simple pass forward. Side ways passer like his uncle. Link to comment

What a stupid comment, that's like saying all the McInnes haters on here know more about management than Mcinnes. Ferguson gives the ball away in the middle of the park but the play goes on for another 15 seconds before the ball goes in the box, if Hayes can't get back half a park in 15 seconds then something is seriously wrong. Taylor is spare for absolutely no reason and Ferguson is marking Taylors man(Shaw) so fault also lies with Taylor, plus Mccrorie also is marking absolutely nobody and could of been far more tactically aware. The only guy for the second goal doing the proper job is Hoban, he is tightly marking his man that he should be marking. The criticism you could label at him is that he isn't aware of the boy behind him and doesn't communicate for cover. Anyway not defending any player after yesterdays game but for folk to start on Hoban of all people is poor, been one of our most consistent players this season considering his injury history etc. Link to comment

OddJob
Fair enough with his injuries before but seems to have recovered really well from those, so it looks like we are back to the old delayed contract offers carry on again Link to comment
G31DON
Looks like we are going for the "start from scratch" regarding players. What have we got for next season 8 players? Link to comment

It's probably 8 as I doubt Hernandez will be back. 1 keeper (Lewis), 1 defender (Considine) and Hayes, Hedges, McGeouch, Ferguson, Campbell and Kennedy are the only ones left. Link to comment

standfree1978
Clearly the best defender we've got and great to see him finally getting a run of games. I think he'll stay on. Link to comment

Less chance of the squad downing tools like they did when Calderwood got the dunt if there's only a handful of them left Link to comment

strachanmcgheegoal
With the greatest respect to him I think is at as good a level of football as he’ll play at (taking in Europe, possible cup finals, reasonable quality level when allowed to). But of course he could do much worse and make a shitload more elsewhere. Link to comment

He's not going to get a Championship club who have no need to take risks even on relatively cheap signings but who have 2 knees constructed from meccano and rubber bands. Efl clubs are now totally hamstrung by their FFP constraints. So we can easily outbid any of them just by bunging him a contract at around our average wage. And as you say, he gets the bonus of European football each year (well about 6 weeks worth) and possibly lifting a trophy given a very lucky cup run. Of course maybe he will be happy heading home and playing in EFL 1 for £1700/wk. It's still not a bad recompense for someone who 2 years ago looked more likely than not never to play again Link to comment
The Gee Man
I’d like to look at making him captain, much prefer an outfield player in this role ! risky giving him longer than a year but could do a constant rolling 1 year deal? Link to comment

aberdeen1970
Unfortunately, based on previous experience, when a player tells us he's happy to wait til the end of the season to talk about a new deal I fully expect him to move on. Link to comment
