What do you think of the new single?

Pretty catchy, got a World in Motion vibe to it.

Hooky's bass is still a big miss though.

Yeah its not bad. Aye Hookys bass not there leaves a big hole.

Probably get the album when its out.

If you haven't already, thoroughly recommend you see Hooky’s band The Light if you get the chance once this covid shits done. Brilliant.

Is he still working his way through live renditions of Joy Division and early New Order albums?

What's the story is 25 years old today.

Not the best album of 1995 (The Bends) but I'll give it its moment in the sun.

1995 was a cracker of a year for albums

The Bends

Different Class

Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness

I Should Coco

Exit Planet Dust

Leftism

Grand Prix

Astro Creep 2000

Jagged Little Pill (take the piss all you like, that's a fucking great album)

Always something fresh and exciting around the corner back then.  Seemed to be a new genre every 2 or 3 years.

What did you think of Dylan's offering, his new single earlier this year? I thought it so bad I didn't get to the end, can't remember the name of it and have erased it from the fleeting memory that it made.

It's a tough single and a tough album. As many Dylan albums are to the causal listener.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but I enjoy elements of it. Some great lines.

Of his recent work, Modern Times is the standout. Spirit on the water is class. Whole album is class. But yeah not for the faint hearted!
