General Election 12th December

Recommended Posts

The UK is set have a general election on December 12 after Boris Johnson won his fourth bid to take the country to the polls with the support of Labour.

MPs voted by 438 to 20 to have a pre-Christmas election in what is expected to be the most unpredictable contest in a generation and the first December poll since 1923.

It will be one of the strangest elections ever. What if you’re a staunch Tory but want to remain or hardcore labour man but want to leave?

Probably be another hung parliament, with shitty alliances and another 12 months of extensions and delays...

The Brexit party will prob split the vote and allow Corbyn a way in though, but it will be a small majority whoever gets in i reckon. The tories will get wiped out in Scotland and lose pretty much all of their seats... it will be interesting to see .

SNP to be king-makers and work with Corbz in return for power to hold another Indy Ref.

Corbz to also have a people's vote on his newly negotiated Brexit deal (which keeps UK in customs union)

What a time to be alive.

It's a straight fight between BoJo the Clown and Commissar Corbyn, despite what that insufferable twat Jo Swinson may claim. Johnson will win.

What will be interesting to see, is whether the BP get enough votes to take seats. They'll certainly get some of the former, in Leave-voting parts of the North of England where Tories are (and will forever be) toxic, but FPTP is what it is and they'll likely be underrepresented.

The interesting, hard-to-predict elements for me, will be whether Wales continues to slavishly vote for trained monkeys in red rosettes, as Weegies did until very recently, and whether the sectarian simpletons of the DUP are punished by Remain-voting NI.

Otherwise, it's another Tory government, with the SNP being a feeble 50, who will be quickly neutralised, both by refusal of a Section 30 order and their own complacency.

The Christmas factor is an interesting variable. Corbs looks like Santa with anorexia so might win on that basis.

Unfortunately I think Labour will get the kind of spanking it was predicted they'd get last time. They have been so mixed up about Brexit that they aren't seen as the party to get us to leave or the party to get us to stay. Every other policy will be lost in the noise. Remainers in Scotland will vote SNP, in Wales vote Plaid Cymru, in England vote Lib dem/Green. Leavers will vote Tory/Brexit.

JC has been a completely disastrous leader, nice guy but a total disaster.

That is indeed Labour’s problem. He is unelectable. If they want any chance of winning he should step down and put someone else in charge.

There are no swing voters going to vote for him.

Looking forward to Simon Cowell putting Santa through to the final for doing a cover of Stop the Cavalry.
