I had guessed the Dutch bit, I was just shite at typing II.  But I also knew about the Dumfries pronunciation due to a conversation at the Troon open 2000 ish.  On seeing an American golfer in the bunker he remarked “there’s Tway in the bunker” (there were two Americans both in the bunker) to which I replied “no, that’s Parnevik”

I see he’s been called up by Venezuela for their forthcoming matches. They play Columbia on Friday and Paraguay a week tomorrow. Strange, no fanfare by AFC on their social media when this is regularly afforded to others when they receive international call ups.

South American football is dreadful.   Niggly foul every 30 seconds,  ref never gets a card out so they know they can get away with it.   I  saw at least a dozen fouls that would be a card in Scotland just in the 2nd half.  Not even full blooded tackles or anything to get excited about,  just trips and barges to disrupt play.  Boring as fuck.
