Zeus
That's it. Let folk make choices. You'll get folk terrified to leave their bedroom and others wanting to get on with life, use a bit of common sense etc. Link to comment
Geoff_Tipps
So basically lock the vulnerable away so that everyone else can live a normal life? 1 1 Link to comment
Geoff_Tipps
Surely the best solution is folk stick to the simple guidelines provided? Failing to do so will just bring tighter restrictions for all. We are now at the point where travel restrictions and curfews are inevitable, which is fucking annoying and was completely avoidable if it wasn't for a selfish minority that don't like being told what to do. 1 3 Link to comment

No one has any idea that if we'd had 100% following the 'simple guidelines' we'd be in any different situation than we are now. The facilities are all in place for people to shield so let them crack on. We can keep all the masks, sanitiser, screens etc and I think it's fair to ask people who have symptoms to self isolate (with financial support) but keeping families apart, ruining weddings, funerals, people missing their child's birth, the last moments of loved ones all has to stop and the powers taken back from the police. 4 Link to comment

Zeus
I think the "selfish minority" is a weak argument. The vast majority stuck to it. What an incredibly blame culture society we bide in..... Medias fault Probably more to do with when you open up and testing a hell of a lot more (a body with the sniffles is apparently booking a test). The whole thing is a shit show, 6 months down the line. Similarly my 90 odd year old grunny would probably rather take the risk and see her family than be locked up at home with nae visitors again for weeks on end. 1 Link to comment

I agree with this completely, I don't want tougher restrictions, trust me. All I want is to be able to pop over to my parents and see them indoors or outdoors when I want. In order to do this I have made a decision not to go to pubs, restaurants etc since pre March. I have also been following the rules throughout. Unfortunately it's looking increasingly likely that come next week I will not be able to see and support them. I think it would be naive to think that we are where we are because people haven't broken the rules or are you suggesting the people following the guidance are the reason cases are increasing? 1 1 Link to comment

I'm saying they are increasing because we are returning to normal, as we should be. Its an infectious virus, it will spread between people, there is nothing that can be done about that now. All that can happen is slowing it down and it depends on your viewpoint whether you think slowing it down is worth the pain involved 3 Link to comment

So if someone knowingly has COVID-19 or has symptoms but decides not to self isolate as wants to go to pub, restaurant, office, shop isn't acting selfishly? Link to comment

If course they aren't helping. I've also stuck to them btw. But as soon as you ease them it spreads. They'll Lockdown for a time it'll dwindle again and guess fit? When it opens up numbers will begin to creep up. So what's the answer. Wait for a vaccine, that still won't eradicate it? Continue to Lockdown and let masses suffer with depression, no access to other NHS services, unemployment? What a time to be alive 1 Link to comment

That's nae what I said. Of course that is selfish. However I'd imagine they are in the tiny minority. What I said is, the minority that have broken the rules are not the cause of the thousands of new cases per day. You csnt blame someone who doesn't know they have it for going to the shop or taking their kid to school and spreading it? Even if you stick to the rules it will still spread in these settings. Edit: looking back didn't explain it well Link to comment

Poodler
The virus will just as likely have spread unwittingly through people who would've been distancing/ following protocols of the food establishments that were deemed acceptable to open without masks etc (a lol in itself tbh). Touching contaminated surfaces etc (in the small instance a viral load can survive there). It's opportunistic, it finds a way. like every other virus and bacteria on this planet. And it has as much right to be here as we do. the morbid obsession with human life continues. Crashing the world economy and having us all in recession/ austerity for another generation for the sake of a few lives. It doesn't make sense to me. But I'm not a family man and never will be. G_T can you see them through the window etc? Is there avenues you can explore to bend 'the rules'? Bearing in mind who makes these rules, they're not designed for any compassion or reality Link to comment

Eugenefani
The test that is being used to diagnose cases will never give us no positive cases. Virus particles in people’s bodies from many different virus’ are traced and will give a positive test result.... does this confirm the person has “COVID-19” - does it fuck. 1 1 Link to comment
