Seedings

The teams in the Champions Path who were eliminated in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League are seeded. For the Main Path, clubs were divided equally between seeded and unseeded clubs in accordance with the club coefficient rankings.

How the draw will work

The UEFA administration has formed groups for the draw to avoid clubs without an approved stadium being drawn against each other, in accordance with the principles set by the Club Competitions Committee. Sides from the same association cannot be drawn against each other. Any further restrictions will be confirmed before the draw.

Champions Path

The balls containing the names of the seeded teams will be placed in one bowl and the balls containing the names of the unseeded teams were put into another bowl. One ball was taken from each bowl and placed in a large empty bowl in the middle, where they were shuffled. The first team drawn plays the tie at home. The last two balls containing unseeded teams will be drawn one after another to pair them.

Main Path

Groups 1 to 3
All clubs in the three groups will be ordered randomly and given a number: 1 to 3 for the seeded teams and 4 to 6 for the unseeded teams. Two bowls will be prepared, one containing balls with slips of paper numbered 1 to 3 and the other containing balls with slips of paper numbered 4 to 6. A ball will be taken from each bowl, placed in an empty bowl and shuffled. The first ball drawn will play the tie at home. The result of this draw are applied to Groups 1 to 3.

Group 4
All clubs will be ordered randomly and given a number: 1 to 4 for the seeded teams and 5 to 8 for the unseeded teams. Two bowls will be prepared, one containing balls with slips of paper numbered 1 to 4 and the other containing balls with slips of paper numbered 5 to 8. A ball will be taken from each bowl, placed in an empty bowl and shuffled. The first ball drawn will play the tie at home.

What happens next?

Ties take place on 1 October, with extra time and a penalty shoot-out if required. Winners advance to the UEFA Europa League group stage.

There is a separate path for Champions who have dropped out.

Consisting of 20 teams, with the discarded dross from Malta, Faroe Islands, Kosovo and the Tims.

They are in the non-champions path, ie, in with us, as the qualified for CL by league placing and not winning their title.

Cheers. Its a full time job keeping up with the uefa qualifying system these days!

I certainly thought he would change from the 3 at the back. He's clearly determined to give it a real run

I didn’t think he would change for last night, but not so confident against Sporting.

The formation is working and we are expected to go out to them, so why not give it a go.

we’ve only conceded 2 goals in 7 games, which is pretty decent.

hopefully another clean sheet on Sunday

Well, we know all about Rijeka. Rosenborg are no mugs and pretty experienced at this level. Don't know much about the rest. Not insurmoutable but just the small issue of Sporting to get by first.

Last season LASK finished top of a Europa League group with Sporting, PSV and Rosenberg in it, so they're probably not too bad.

Aye.

At home, beat Sporting 3-0, PSV 4-1 & Rosenburg  2-1.

Away beat Roseburg, drew at PSV and lost 2-1 at Sporting.

Also last season knocked Basel out of CL qualifying winning both games 3-1 at home and 2-1 away.

Then knocked AZ Alkmaar out in last 32,  3-1 on agg, before being horsed by Man U in R16.

I've decided they are nae who I want in the draw now.

Rijeka or Rosenburg PLEASE.
