To both FnD and WesthillWanderersFC the reason Dundalk have had such an easy route is they are the Irish champions and started in the Champions League qualification and so are in the Champions Path of the Europa whereas we were in the League Path.

So once again the team that puts us out doesn't make it to the groups. Of all the teams who beat us in the McInnes European adventures only one has made it to the group stage.

Just a stat, wasn't really aimed at anyone. Though if you want to draw some relevance, it probably shows how far away we are from getting to the groups.

How can a Faroese team reach a play off before us?   They're not beating the calibre of sides we seem to draw every year.   Are we just really unlucky in the draw?

You can’t argue why didn’t we get the shite Faroese team in the 4th round when you’ve been consistently papped out in the 2nd and third rounds.  Huns have had decent draws for sure, but have Also taken care of the more difficult rounds when they’ve needed to, especially when they were two leg affairs.  That’s the ruthlessness we don’t have.

It's certainly very impressive the Huns have managed to win 11 qualifiers in the last 3 seasons.

The wins for the two clubs last night almost guarantees the third scottish team will be in the Europa PO round for the next two seasons with backdoor in to the Conference Group Stages.

Coattails but it'll be nice to get a few trips where it's not 1 weeks notice.

 

Edit: We have to make damn sure it's us in those spots the next two seasons. We must finish no lower than 3rd in the league, make a huge push for the Scottish cup and unfortunately be looking for one of the top two to perhaps win the cup.

I watched first half of huns last night and the Gala forward shot the ball to goal and goldson handled it! In spl its a pen, in Europa league, play on!!

I think Tom English said last night at half time that the huns were 11-0  for their euro season having missed out level 1 (so presumably finished 12-1).  That ruthless.  Cant be arsed checking what ours is over three seasons, never mind 1.

I was disappointed with Galatasaray. They were too cautious, often turning back and keeping possession but also allowing SevCo to get organised as well.

The second was extremely poor defending. The keeper should have had all day long.

Comes down to mentality of the manager and the club.  They go into these games expecting to win, we don't.

Sporting game, all McInnes spoke about was how special it was for players to come up against such a great side in great stadium (secondary stadium) etc.

 

Basically had the team running out in awe of a team missing half dozen or their players, their manager, their home ground & their fans.

Had he gotten the Hun job, would he send them out with same shite fed to them?

Anyway European Football hasnt been any good to us for decades with the exception of 2007/8.  Unless you spend money you havent got you would be as well not turning up champions league and euro league are a fricking joke.

If youre going to invest though and it looks like Cormack has an appetite to do so (and putting Westhill to one side for the moment) I still maintain that pound for pound that investment for potential group stage football would be easier, with higher rewards, than trying to split the cheeks.
