The issue here isn't them breaking any SFA or club rules. They broke the Scottish Government advice that the general public have to follow. Yes pubs are open, but you are still only meant to meet people from 2 other households indoors. Clearly if there was 8 of them this was breached. Any exemptions given to footballers are based on them coming into contact with each other within the training ground with extra measures put in place to minimise the risk. This is why usually if one player tests positive as long as the others who have been in contact with him have a negative test within 48 hours before kickoff they can play.

In this case because they broke the Scottish Government guidelines and met in a large group outside of the training ground they are not having the concessions usually made to footballers extended to them. So anyone who was in contact with the 2 positive players outside of the training ground has to isolate for 14 days.

Yes the players are entitled to a social life away from football but they still have to follow the same advice the rest of us do. The fucking cunts.

Correct, this is really not difficult to understand.

Get the players who are available out, tell them to go for it as they have nothing to lose. No reason why they can't get a result against St Johnstone. This is their chance to nail down starting spots for the rest of the season, or for young players to make a name for themselves.

What I fear is that they are told to sit back and we lose 1-0 again.

What a mistake it was not selling Scott McKenna. Regretful.

We are doomed to never ever break the Jess to Coventry transfer record.

We should just phone up the Huns now offering Ferguson for £1m payable over 4 seasons.

DOOMED

Seeing some arse licking fans defend the players on Twitter has been especially embarrassing.

Literally indefensible behavior.

Some of the attacking, with no knowledge of what actually happened, is bonkers.

What don't we know? The Scottish Government have confirmed that rules/guidelines were breached.

It’s the lack of awareness and discipline that strikes me. This is not a normal season, the players need to adapt their behaviour off the pitch to prevent this kind of thing happening. First chance they get their off flouting the rules and have now placed a heavy burden on their team-mates.

Surely the club could have organised a venue for their exclusive use as an outlet for socialising that would avoid close contact with the general public? Obviously not fool-proof but would minimise their likelihood of catching it.

Pretty galling that the PL/Championship managed to complete their season with only a handful of cases and we’ve made an arse of it at the first attempt.

Not a chance if this happened to either of arse cheeks the game would go ahead.

What happened to the rule where you could postpone 1 game per season? Seem to mind celtic abusing that rule early every year so they could go play in china or something.

What I'm certainly nae enjoying is how much the weegies think they have the moral high ground on Aberdeen at the moment, probably for the first time in their lives. Kneel and show racism the red card, but sectarianism just gets a yellow eh, cretins.

Theres no room in the calendar to rearrange many games.

It's one of the reasons last seasons Scottish cup isn't getting played until December.

Think It'annoying me more them going out in town after Saturday's performance.  Especially if one of them was drinking fizzy water...

Pubs themselves have rules about numbers of people per household.  Adams Lounge had a max 3 households and many people were breaking that.  I'm confident that Soul bar would have had something similar, if not then I hope the fucking place gets hit hard.

We don't even know what the rules/guidelines are? The SG issued a pompous statement about being disappointed but unless you've seen the rules, feel free to enlighten us as to what rule they actually broke?

They're not meant to mix in groups of 8 different households, just like everyone else in the country.

For a start you cannot have 8 people from 8 different households together indoors. That's before we get onto the specific guidelines for the SPFL.

So everyone is attacking them for this? I don't think that's the case based on the posts on social media. The majority of posts seem to be based on the breaking of unknown SPFL guidance. Folk are doing this because the vast majority of people who are attacking them have probably broken the guidance rule you've just mentioned (not all).

Very much this.

You don’t have to understand the SFA/club protocols or to “know what was going on” to know that gathering in a group that size that they are in breach of the Government rules that applies to all of us.

To do so knowing that they are in the public eye that it would get attention (Scottish Government, media and wider public) and that the consequence would be that they’d all have to isolate - demonstrates how stupid they really are.

The SPFL has fuck all to do with rules outside of the football.

From Friday (some point in July), a maximum of 15 people from up to five different households can meet together outdoors. As well as this, a maximum of eight people from up to three different households can now meet indoors for the first time since lockdown.

You are talking quite a lot of rubbish here, they are in breach of governmental guidelines, as detailed above.

I get this. I'm saying people are ranting about them breaking SPFL guidance when nobody even knows what the guidance from the SPFL is.

source?? Unless we've seen more players isolated, I don't see how this would not go ahead.

Exactly.  Did the club not anticipate this?  Theyre not exactly supping a brown paper wrapped half bottle in a back alley.  We're one game into the season and they thought 8 of them mixed together publicly wasn't going to be noticed, with an ransacked first team the inevitable result?

Donnet, if the 6 non symptomatic players had tested negative yesterday would they have ordinarily been able to play?  Or is the footballer exemption that you must have tested negative AND have 'bubbled' in the preceding days?  If its the latter every oik with a camera phone is going to be following Edooard's every movement for a year?
