Just to clarify, the numbers in brackets are the total 'wins' over the season. If you hit three on the spin you earn a mulligan essentially if your punt loses from then on. In Studes case, he's back needing 3IAR.

Is it? I thought that was the IAR total, and therefore was a loophole if you won 3 to gain a free hit then lost/won/lost/won alternately you could stay on cause you had won your 3 to begin with.
