Aberdeen 4 - 2 Hamilton

Recommended Posts

Hopefully a couple of the injured players back and no positive covid tests off the back of the international break. A striker is also a must.

2-0 the famous.

         Hoban Taylor Considine

McLennan Ferguson McCrorie Hayes

                       Hedges

             Watkins Edmondson

2 up front would be a good idea but equally well the team played well enough to get a chance to put it right

Gutted about the result today but 4 or 6 points from the next two is still challenging for the title form if we can replicated that in the 2nd and 3rd 11 games.

It's not just a question 2 up or 1 up, it's the personnel deployed in those roles.

Whether it's 1 behind 2 or 2 behind 1 is hardly different at all - it's all about the mix of players in that 3.

We need a Cosgrove or possibly Edmundson type, with 2 of Wright, Watkins, McGinn or Hedges.

Hamilton are the perfect team for us to have after the Dundee United game.

Instead of Hayes trying and failing to put in the perfect cross he should try and take on opposition defenders.

I expect the same effort as the Dundee United match only with a different outcome.

We may lose a goal because of our constant attacking.

Aberdeen 3 Hamilton 1

Is the tv black out for European games applicable to club channels?

Would hope not

Think that’s why the game is a 7pm kick off to avoid that being the case

Think Considine might struggle for this one, 4 matches in 9 days a big ask of any player.

I was thinking Hoban might get rested, with his injury record & a double header against the Tims coming.

Considine has never had any problem playing twice a week. And that was when he was playing left back, much easier shift now he's at centre back.

The problem with my suggestion McInnes might rest Hoban, it would almost certainly mean McCrorie dropping back out of midfield if we play a back 3.

Hoban has just had a fortnight without a game.

We shouldn't rest anyone for Wednesday, we need the points.

I agree, I was just saying it was a possibility.

Aye don't see Hoban getting rested. He's no longer just returning from injury, he's over 2 months down the line from that. If he really is to be a professional footballer going forward then we have to trust the surgeons have done their job properly and treat him like every other player now. And that means being able to play 3 games in 8 days.

A Striker that can put the ball in the back of the net more than once and not just penalties.

My advice to the team is to do goals.

McInnes said after the Runavik game he wants to go with two up front as much as possible this season.

Great chance to play two up front for second time out of 13 games. LOLz

Cosgrove, Devlin, Kennedy and Leigh all back.

Cerny, Campbell and Main out.

He may rest Ferguson who had been carrying a knock and replace with McGeough and maybe swap Watkins for Edmondson.

Cosgrove will hopefully make the bench and come on at some time.

Same performance as the weekend and we will win comfortably.

Lets get a couple of goals anyway, before introducing some of the returners.

We will pump this mob.

4-0. They've got a minimum of 6 players missing tonight. Surely to fuck we will take advantage of that, especially as we are getting a few players back.

Edmondson, Hedges, Hayes, Cosgrove

Read the interview with their manager on the BBC website. Its headline was he isn't in favour of clubs forfeiting the points in the event of having to postpone matches due to having too few players fit. I can't remember of the names of the players out but 2 of them are self isolating because they were on international duty last week and were in contact with Billy Stark who then tested positive, another 4 out injured

Edit....one of the injured was Brian Easton.
