Both the journalist & the paper are notorious 2) Even if it were true, why would Newcastle offer anything like £4m? They know fine we accepted a bid from Guingamps far less than that. Since then, he’s scored 1 goal, looked pish & is closer to the end of his contract, & they know we’re not in a position financially to be difficult to deal with. Anyway, I refuse to believe that an EPL club would contemplate having him in their 25 man squad. He will be classed as home grown in the EPL and EFL and that might put a small premium on his transfer fee. The boy has a fantastic scoring record but he doesn't look like a football player however the EPL is mental, £20m for McBurnie is a benchmark so £4m for Cosgrove is not too far fetched. Atrocious player for a joke of a club. If they cough up the money they can have him. He will be perfectly suited to lower english division hoofball dross clubs say someone like a Sunderland or Portsmouth. Link to comment

After a relatively decent start to the season, they're starting to lose ground on the clubs at the top and aren't even in the play off positions, with a couple of clubs just ahead of them having one or two games in hand. If they don't come up this season, I'd say administration/possible liquidation is a far more likely outcome than them signing Cosgrove. Link to comment

shut up meg
I agree that £4m looks a bit of a stretch however English born players or players classed as home grown do go for more money than your average Johnny Foreigner down in guffy land. Link to comment
