Think McInnes would have a chance of a championship job if he was free to go. But they wouldn’t pay any compensation for him.

it’s clear that he needs to walk away from his dons contract to get his dream job. Go for it derek, we will allow you to chase the dream.

Maybe we’d forego the full compensation due if it meant getting him off the wage bill?

Would depend on how much truth their was in the rumours of him and Cormack falling out recently.

Are you pretending to be this stupid?  I'd like him to say  'win our games in hand and we can challenge Celtic for 2nd and a Champs League place'.  What are you struggling to understand here?

Pedant;y, we don’t have games in hand over Celtic.

‘we’ve both played 22 and are sitting effectively 8 points behind when you consider the goal difference

we do have games in hand over Hibs, whom we are a point behind, so the first target should be to regain 3rd spot and maintain that as a minimum. Then we look to the next spot above

Pedantry back at you.

Goal difference isn't worth a point.

Tbf McInnes isn't the man they should be going after re Hernandez.

Shouldn't have paraded him around as if he was his signing. Most people saw through it as its the antithesis of a Derek McInnes signing.

Regardless of that, the decision to sign Curtis Main alone stinks of a honking recruitment team

Hence why I said effectively.

‘we lost out two seasons ago on GD, so it does make a difference and do you believe we can overcome the 25 goal delta between us and Celtic? If your reasonable, then the answer would be no, meaning we need that effective extra point to be able to go above them (if we actually got that close)

Still not worth a point.

Debatable if it means we miss out on a league placing because we neither have the necessary goal difference or that single point which would negate the need to defer on goal difference.

points are considered first, then goal difference.

‘My point was that we’d likely need to earn 8 points more than Celtic in the remaining games to go above them, so in my opinion, that GD delta, is worth that extra point.

‘you can disagree if you want, opinions and arseholes and all that, but that is how the cookie crumbles

"Even if we win one of our games in hand then we will be sitting in third spot. We have done enough this season to suggest we can finish the season where we want to finish.".

All very negative Derek, If we win both our games in hand, including a confidence boosting win over Celtic we could find ourselves right on their coat-tails and in a position to challenge for 2nd. We’ve not done enough yet to suggest we’ll finish 3rd which seems the summit of our ambition or ‘where we want to finish’. A quick glance at the league table tells us that, as well as the fact our form has dipped at just the wrong time, including a thumping from then bottom of the league County. I’d hope ‘we’ want to finish as high as possible and not be daunted at the challenge of catching Celtic just because ‘it’s Celtic’ and we no right to finish above them.

McInnes should shut his fucking pie hole, this sort of shite is going to add more fuel for the Scottish government when they shut football down for being full of idiots that can't do what they're told in a public health crisis.

He gets asked questions, he gives answers. Completely damned either way.

Stop quoting Big Hat Logan, please. Negates the point of having him on ignore, thanks.

Being that rattled you have to put someone on ignore. Ooft.

So the ambition of the club should be second place?

Mccinnes should only be sacked if we have someone better lined up he’s the best manager at the club for 30 years

I think a lot of what the scottish government says is deflection tactics to take away from how bad they have handled this whole situation

“Calling me out” makes you nothing.

Constantly defending McInnes makes you the obtuse apologist.

Hope that was a simple enough explanation. Even for you.

Don't think we'll have to worry about goal difference - we'll finish about 20 points behind the tims with Derek the shitebag in charge

I don't think Cormack has a crystal ball to be able to tell the future.

McInnes has brought Aberdeen back to, roughly, where we should be in terms of budget, but we've stagnated.

McInnes hasn't done any better than Tommy Wright, John Hughes or Alan Stubbs has done. Worse in fact when you look at budgets. Not saying let's get any of those guys in, but if you're thinking that Mcinnes is the best we can get, i.e. one trophy and sitting 4th 3 seasons in a row, then we're in trouble!

Are you proposing that we keep McInnes for ever because we might not find anyone who looks better on paper?

What do you mean by "safe" league position, 3rd or 4th?

Surely when wages come into play you need to factor in tbat players would rather be in Glasgow or Edinburgh so we need to pay more to get them to move to Aberdeen?

Its not a dig, just a genuine thought

I was meaning 5/6th he would bring mid table safety to a Motherwell type team, he has brought security to us however we need to progress and he hit his ceiling a couple of years back.  Ideally, we need to move forward sign young hungry players and sign them for nothing and get a decent sell on fee whilst playing  decent attacking football. I firmly believe that  is the model DC has planned however I do not think McIness is the man to take us to that level.

The ambition each year is to finish as high as possible. This means winning games that we should be winning,

i.e.

not losing to Ross County 4-1,

Not dropping 4 points to Motherwell in 2 games

Not struggling to beat the likes of St Mirren EVERY TIME we play them.

If the above had been rectified, we'd be looking very comfortably at 2nd place.

After reading McIness in the press over the last two days he his here to stay, he is achieving all his goals. I wish the fans were allowed back in the stadiums  that is the only way the board will see the fans feelings to McIness.

Cormack will find out soon enough what the fans think when the season tickets & DNA numbers haemorrhage at renewal time in May/June.

"Young hungry players" (and I presume you mean aged 23 or less by this) aren't free at all. You have fork out a development fee for them.....higher if they're Scottish.

I agree it's the model we should be using but it is a bit of a gamble.....if they don't kick on you have forked out a fairly hefty fee in Scottish terms and are left with a player who might not even be suitable to even be a substitute for your side, never mind cash in on them at some point

We would already be in second place if we hadn't dropped points to Ross County (A), Rangers (A), Motherwell (A), St Mirren (A) and Dundee Utd (H) this past 2 months.

I can't believe anyone is even doubting 2nd place is/was there for the taking this season. It still is if we can get firing again, but i'm not confident.

Even without thousands of fans boo'ing at HT/FT the replies to the club at FT will show just how fed up so many fans are.

Board will suffer with a reduction in folk buying PPV games and DNA (the scam it is) and ST sales going down for next season should the football etc keep up

By that logic tic would be leading if they hadn’t dropped points ?
