About 15 of the Gothenburg squad at least.

Add in

Bobby Clark, Joe Harper, Drew Jarvie, Eoin Jess, Steve Archibald, Frank McDougall, Niall McGinn, Benny Yorston, Theo Snelders, Hans Gilhaus, Charlie Nicholas, Paul Mason, Duncan Shearer, Jim Bett, Henning Boel, Arthur Graham, Fred Martin, Martin Buchan etc

There’s well over 30 off the top of my head.
All rank higher in the “best Dons” ahead of Zerouali.
There would probably be more if I looked.

Zero only played 40 games, a good chunk of them off the bench.

Is Varga not in the same category as Zerouali?
He played under 30 games for the Dons

Saw Varga New Year's Day, 1973 v Dundee.

Pure class and was soon off to Ajax to replace Johan Cruyff, say no more.

Varga played less than 30 times for us but at that time I must have seen the vast majority of the games. He was simply the most skilful player I have seen for Aberdeen.

Zero played 40 times, a talented player but not near the class of Varga.

I wouldn't have realised zero only played 40 times. His goal return is much better than I would have thought if thats the case

Cost 450k, scored 11 goals in 3 years and left for free (pathetic business).

17 caps for Morocco scoring 3 goals (2 of which were against Bakina Faso).

Played for FUS Rabat, Aberdeen, some UAE club then some other Moroccan lot.

I've no ill will towards the boy but those stats sum him up, good entertainment for kids and wifies during a shite period.

He scored a goal pretty much every 2nd game in every start he had for us and same again for his country

Thats whilst playing alongside an absolute shower of shite at club level

He wasn't nicknamed little Romario for nothing

I was and still am in love with him - moroccan magician

Still got a couple of really precious mementoes that his family gave to me - pride of place

More like 1 in 4.

I loved Zerouali for us as it was something different, but he hardly set the footballing world alight outside of his time here.

Aye, they're no Bradford or Northampton

Coventry and Bradford I think you mean. Both were in EPL at the time and made us decent money.

I was merely stating facts and as I said I've nothing against Zerouali but comparing Jess v Zerouali is idiotic.

I understand you're too young to have seen many "greats" and I realise you've latched onto the likes of Zero and Lee Miller as the best you've seen and thats a shame but to dismiss Jess like you do makes you sound ridiculous.

Coventry too, yeah, but he was also at Northampton and Bradford

You are one who would rip the piss out of Burnley,  so you can't have it both ways when lauding jess for playing for "premiership teams "

If he was half as good as is said on here, he wouldn't have had the career he had

Maybe it was a mental problem?

Weak?

Burnley? No idea what you're going on about there.

Signed by two clubs who were in the top flight in England at the time. Not many players do that from Scotland.

Poor choices of clubs granted. Should have gone to Sampdoria but tried to do the best thing for AFC.

I'm not surprised you don't get it.

And jess did?

He had 1 in 11 outside Aberdeen!

Irrelevant to my point. If comparing Jess with Zero, you could compare also the transfer fees they commanded.

Jess far outstrips Zero, despite effectively being from an earlier period.

zero was good for Aberdeen in his short time here, as others said created an excitement in a dreadful period, but Jess did far more for the Dons, that’s indisputable
