Realistically, cash at the gate bypasses security.

I don't know if anyone has ever been banned from Pittodrie, but letting anyone pay their way into a stadium event with CATG is gone.

Has anyone else thought of that, or am I the only candidate for MENSA on here? I didn't read every single post.

The security issue is a joke.

Can sit virtually anywhere in X or Y in South and can get anybody to buy you a ticket.

I know for a fact you can still get chucked out if on a ban tho if picked up on cctv.

That limit is imposed by the pub/shop. They could lift that to £50+ and make it far quicker than having to stand there waiting for some arsehole trying to wade through a fist full of coins, fluff and golf tees, whilst trying to count out £3.50 in the most amount of coins possible.

FWP, ffs.

Just to clear up misinformation and bullshit previously sprouted in this thread.

Pubs/shops can't increase the £30 maximum for contactless, Apple Pay etc can be over £30 because you are authenticating it with your finger/passcode.

There is a lot more hassle in running a cash gate than employing a school kid to run it for an hour.

There are many easy ways to bypass security if you are banned (unless very notorious) a mate buying you a ticket, wearing a hat and not sitting wear you normally sit would do the trick I'm sure. Might be different in ten years with facial recognition on CCTV etc but that ain't ever happening at Pittodrie.

Putting contactless payments at a gate is a decent idea, I'm sure the club has looked into the costs of hardware to select the ticket type, take the payment, print the ticket, software development and the fact it would also be quite easy to buy a kids ticket for an adult. The fact it is only used for 20 games a season and the technology could become dated quick it isn't worth it. It would probably have to be an already developed system that we purchased/rent from another company.

Cash has many benefits when you don't want HMRC to know what you spend your money on or how you obtain it.

Fuck Stenny.

Once fully functional, you can Apple Pay on your phone, straight to wallet and straight in the door.

That’s different to paying at the gate with any contactless card.

You buy the ticket via Apple/an App, similar to getting an e-ticket with a barcode.

Good idea however.

The pleasing thing is Stewart isn’t expected to do the winger thing where we insisted on playing him before but if he does fancy a run McGinn slots into the nb10 with ease. Second he’s the front point of the triangle with Shinnie and Ferguson so less responsibility to track back which again was a weakness before.

As someone once said. Terrific.

Other than swapping in someone slightly more creative for Shinnie or Ferguson (and Devlin for Consi which will surely happen in time) that’s as strong as we’ve been on paper for years, including the bench.

Surprised Reynolds not on the bench. Not that he will be needed but would have been an ideal game to bring him on for the last 25 minutes or so just to give him some competitive action.

It will be hard for the likes of Hoban and Reynolds to get much playing time if Devlin stays fit once he comes back.

Nae surprised at all. He is behind Considine and Hoban in terms of getting into our first choice back four. Best we can do is punt him to St Johnstone or Dundee in the window and get him off the wage bill. Has showed no sign of getting anywhere near the form of 3/4 seasons ago.
