Avatar was utter pish.

When they called the valuable rock they were trying to dig 'unobtainium', I knew they were taking the piss

There was a decent story in Avatar waiting to get out, but it was completely obscured by all the gimmicky 3D SFX stuff, and patronising pish as you describe.

I'm allergic to anything Disney-esque where cutesy wee animals or inanimate objects suddenly do a song-and-dance routine [shudders]

Also utter mindless crap like Grease, Full Monty, Mama Mia... hours of my life I'm never getting back.

Star Wars, over rated crap. Same for Harry Potter shit, I do however think that Lord of the Rings is a classic book and the films were also brilliant in my geeky mind....... Hobbit not so much.

I did actually laugh out when they said that line.  Terrible, terrible film.

Hate is a bit strong but here we go:

Pirates of the Caribbean - really really dull.

Star Wars - not bad per se but not worth all the hype.

James Bond films - gave up after Quantum of Solace - terrible film.

The Wild Bunch - not bad as such but not special for me.

Once Upon a Time in the West - makes a long song out of a pretty short tune. The start is brilliant though.

Blow Up - supposedly a cult film of the 60's - should've been right up my street - boring and crap.

Zabrisky Point - Great ending - the rest is boring.

The Usual Suspects - yes I knew the ending before I saw it so maybe that killed it for me but I didn't enjoy it.

Lincoln - Best Picture Oscar winner. I like Daniel Day Lewis and have read about Lincoln and the issue of slavery/ war but this film didn't interest me at all.

The Austin Powers series - the idea and the catchphrases are good but I just don't find Myers funny.

The Captain America series 1, 2 & Civil War - not bad just boring.

Platoon - not bad at all but not worth the hype.

Apocalypse Now - see above. Fast forward to the Brando scenes and that's it. The helicopters and the Doors is great but doesn't justify the 3 hour duration and Dennis Hopper is really annoying in it too.

Django - not the Tarrantino version but the original 60's one. Would've been great a short but after you learn what's in the coffin it gets boring fast.

The Northern Lights of old Aberdeen

Mean home sweet home to me

The Northern Lights of Aberdeen

Are what I long to see

I've been a wanderer all of my life

And many a sight I've seen

God speed the day when l'm on my way

To my home in Aberdeen!!

"Avatar" - even the visuals weren't as good as everyone made out.  Plot wise it was a beat for beat rip off of  "Dances with Wolves", "The Last of the Mohicans", "The Last Samurai" etc etc.
