I'd take the Sun with a pinch of salt but I'd be ok with that providing we have someone lined up. No laughing in the back.

Interesting in as much as you'd hope we have a decent replacement coming.

Rooney's not terrible imo but I think to get us to the next level we need more mobile forwards tbh.

That's my thought. 'If' this was true would surely mean someone is on their way. Extra money to bid for Marquis?

Would be a good move for Rooney if true. He'll bang them in at that level.
He's 30 now and as much as it pains me to say it we've maybe seen the best of him. Injury and lack of service has hindered him.
That said, if we are to sell our most prolific scorer in the last few years then McInnes must ensure an adequate replacement.

The Northern Lights of old Aberdeen

Mean home sweet home to me

The Northern Lights of Aberdeen

Are what I long to see

I've been a wanderer all of my life

And many a sight I've seen

God speed the day when l'm on my way

To my home in Aberdeen!!

Joking aside that’s pretty much my thoughts.

Unless it’s May/Cosgrove this season

Its 100% true.

Good enough for me.
If you go Adam, thanks for your efforts and best of luck.
Doubt Salford City see him as a left winger.

I'll bite...

Fee 'towards' Marquis. Also he's younger and probably has ambition. Rooney is coming towards the end of his career and will be happy playing every week at a lower level, but they may need to pay a bit more to make him drop levels.

Tells you a lot about the ridiculous money in English football if a team in England's fifth tier can offer a financial package for a player like Rooney, yes he may not be the player he was but would probably still get 10-15 goals next season for us as a rotation player.
I am sure lots of teams in Scotland would have been interested in him.

Rooney would not get us 10-15 goals as a rotation player. He needs to start and start regularly and get decent service. On the evidence of last season he got neither.

Fuck it, I'd rather it was May going, but if this is how it's gonna be, then this is how its gonna be.

We should focus our resources on getting a single quality replacement striker.

We don't need 4 senior strikers, Bruce Anderson is 20 in September so he should be making a push for the team.

Rather that than spunk a wage on some fucking loser like Maynard to come on for a cameo the last 15 mins every second game.

Best striker since Harper and I will be sorry to see him go, but at this stage of his career he needs regular first team football and we cannot guarantee him that. I hope plan B entails signing someone who can fill his boots and does not simply rely on May and Cosgrove to get us goals.

3rd best poacher as in my opinion he's behind Shearer.

No fucking way he’s a better striker than Shearer, Booth, Michie or McDouagal.

As long as there are plans in place to replace him then all good. He’s over 30 and past his best

^^^^All opinions I suppose, Rooney has been great for us the last few years, but since Harper, Frank McDougal, Eric Black, Shearer, Booth, Jess, Paataleinen, McGhee, Gillhaus, Nicholas,....all way better than Rooney

Similar statistics right enough so it just comes down to personal opinion I suppose. Rooney just shades it for me.
