Aberdeen sack Derek McInnes

Recommended Posts

Bottom line is:

- DM agreed a contract with AFC which included a buy out clause. DM would have had input to this and agreed that this was a fair valuation of his worth.

- sevco valuation of DM is below that of AFC, which effectively means AFC value DM more than sevco do - bit of a slap in face for potential future employee.

- AFC realise DM does want the job and would be willing to release him - subject to sevco meeting the contract terms (not unreasonable to ask - particularly as DM would have been in agreement with those terms (otherwise he would not have signed the contract).

I fancy AFC would show a little flexibility in the situation - given the circs, they may move to -10% of what is due (not unreasonable to close the deal).

So, bottom line for sevco is.... Put your money where your mouth is ie. Put up or shut up.
