Make sure that mask is N95 or N99. Otherwise you're giving yourself a false sense of security.

I'm telling you this not to be a dick, but to make sure you have effective protection.

Hopefully we all* make it through this trying time.

*Obviously not all.

Obviously.

I'm hoping for a wipeout of say 75-97% of São Paulo.

This new situation shall ameliorate commuting life for the survivors, of which I shall certainly be one. I'll be able to go to work walking in peace, unmolested by lost souls, cos the living dead, shall be, well, dead.

Granted I may have to start eating dog and won't be able to use The Hat no more, but every silver lining always had a cloud.

I remember the days when if there was a virus in China we either didn't hear about it or didn't give a fuck. That was before we were all poofy drama queens

Two people from the same family have tested positive for coronavirus in the UK, the chief medical officer for England has announced.

It is understood the patients were staying in a hotel in Yorkshire, before being taken overnight to a specialist centre in Newcastle.

At least 213 people in China have died from the virus, with almost 10,000 cases nationally.

There have been 98 cases in another 18 countries.

According to the report, late on Saturday evening, Tencent, on its webpage titled "Epidemic Situation Tracker", showed confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (2019nCoV) in China as standing at 154,023, 10 times the official figure at the time. It listed the number of suspected cases as 79,808, four times the official figure.

And while the number of cured cases was only 269, well below the official number that day of 300, most ominously, the death toll listed was 24,589, vastly higher than the 300 officially listed that day.

A third patient in the UK has tested positive for coronavirus, England's chief medical officer has said.

The individual, who caught the infection abroad, is being taken to a specialist NHS treatment centre.

"We are using robust infection control measures to prevent any possible further spread of the virus," Prof Chris Whitty said.

The virus has infected 28,256 worldwide and killed 565 people, mostly in China.
