Proposed new stadium, by Aberdeen beach
sooth_stander replied to sooth_stander's topic in AFC and Scottish Football
A 4m x 4m kitchen extension, that was priced at £40k in 2020 in now a baw hair off £60k so apply that financials to both rebuilding Pittodrie and a new stadium, either at Kingsford and the beach, and AFC are fucked. Unless material costs come down (unlikely) I’ll be getting my ashes scattered on the green green grass of an unaltered Pittodrie, even if I live another 25 years (unlikely) -
I agree, KSL. He’s already proven he’s a decent player and so worth preserving with. The amount of stick he was taking from certain nuggets in the stand last Saturday was sickening to witness. How, the fuck, is that going to improve his confidence? Slaughter him for a lack of effort if appropriate but not when he’s clearly struggling with confidence. As with Jack Milne, waste of a season but due to managerial stupidity

The PLZ clickbait snippet that was showed yesterday ~ the show was shown in its entirety at 10am today. If you’ve got an hour, watch it. Peter Martin gets shot down by the others for his parochial viewpoint of why didn’t the Dons appoint Lennon etc? -

Maybe this strategic review undertaken by the German consultancy company will suggest a better approach? -

A vacancy has appeared today - Head of Academy Coaching - which is Stuart’s current role so can only assume he is now officially in Leavy’s old role -

Aye he’s the only one trying to create anything but let down by a toothless Dundee frontline -

Peter Martin. But, he is a prick of a man, that much is true. -

Burrows is clearly trying to infer that the club wanted Jimmy this time last year but Elfsborg played hardball (as they did this year too, but Dave pushed harder - more dosh chucked, in reality) But we all can guess that the club shat it when Robson went on that great run, and mistakenly thought the fans would revolt if he wasn’t given the gig -

Check back 12 months son, the evidence is there in terms of who was for Robson’s appointment and who wasn’t. -

Watching the Alan Burrows interview just now, regarding the Thelin appointment. We knew that he was interviewed last year, when Robson ended up horrendously being appointed but getting the impression that Thelin was the preferred candidate then too, but Elfsborg dug their heels in, as they continued to do so this year. Or am in being naive, and the FMB picked Robson over him? 3 year contract -
The problem with Shinnie (and I agree with you) is that he’s on £7k a week, till summer 2026. He’s not getting that dough anywhere else, so going to be an expensive redundancy package he’ll be entitled to. Regarding the rest, all depends on how much dosh Jimmy is given to reshape the squad. I suspect irrespective of that, it’s going to take him 3 or 4 windows to totally readjust the squad. If he’s playing 433, then the full back areas might be more pressing a need than the centre backs, this summer. No way will Devlin fit the profile although he’ll probably get kept on for cover

How much notice did Colin give Dave? The day he arrived?
