Out Of Contract

Recommended Posts

Not how I remember it. Jack told everyone he was USA bound. Whether he was lying about that only he will know but that's the story the press were running with . Again, whether he was lying or the USA move genuinely did break down, once the papers got wind that he was sevco bound, at that point they reported it. To insinuate that there was some conspiracy to keep things quiet in the press is just bizarre. They need sensational stories to sell copies. Jack to sevco was hardly sensational and not worth their while sitting on so as soon as they found out it was in print the next day.

So why did Naismith join them in preference to us? Better for his career??? I don't think so....

Maybe because he was told Logan would be first choice, maybe he fancied trying to make a name for himself and work his way up the leagues, maybe he met some dons fans and thought they were a bit dim?

Just because you can't believe he choose Peterborough doesn't mean he is getting paid something like 6k a week.

I didn't say he was. I stated that Peterborough's offer blew ours out the water....no mention of £6k/ week for Naismith. Read back.

If we offered him our average wage of around £2.6k/week and Peterborough offered him say £4k/week...isn't that blowing ours out the water? And where would you choose to go if you were going to to earn over £150k more over a 3 year contract? For that reason I most certainly can believe he chose Peterborough. I'm not saying whatever he got down there we couldn't match if we wanted to. It's just we wouldn't...DM ( or the board) obviously felt he wasnt worth it.

If we offered him our average wage of around £2.6k/week (HOLY FUCK YOU'VE ALREADY SAID AVERAGE WAGE TAKES IN YOUTH PLAYERS SO THE AVERAGE FOR A 1ST TEAM PLAYER WOULD BE HIGHER) and Peterborough offered him say £4k/week...isn't that blowing ours out the water? "And Naismith getting wages at Peterborough that we couldn't match"

You like to pick and choose which bits you you want to listen to, while contradicting yourself?

The last sentence is probably all you needed to say, I agree with that!

The club have offered the biggest package ever to keep shinnie, for me I'd rather he went than have us fork out a silly amount of money to keep an average at best midfielder who can't tackle, has limited shooting and passing.  If he goes to rangers then fuck him for stringing us along and going to them but if they want to pay him over £10k a week it shows just how desperate they are.

Totally agree.

Wonder if we have even approached Jake Hastie/his agent, or if the speculation of Huns & English teams has meant we didn't even consider the idea?

We need a decent replacement for GMS on wing & I would much prefer we were spending on good young potential, like with Ferguson (& he is a good advert for other potential signings of his ilk) young keen Scottish prospects.

Development fee required but easily worth it.

GMS is gone basically, McGinn is still producing a bit but we could probably get as much on left wing from Hastie as him but his potential is greater & we already have McLennan for the right.

Just need to find the next young creative central mid to compliment Ferguson & replace Shinnie.

FFS you really are remedial. Yes our average wage includes youth players who lower the average wage. I'll try to make this simple for you but that might be beyond you too.

Ok let's assume our first team squad has 25 players. And the youths also have around 25 players signed up (we will say U19 as those players will all be on initial contracts at or around national minimum wage) but lets be generous and say we pay them £400/wk ( we absolutely don't!!). Now how much would the have to pay your average first team player to reach our AVERAGE wage. You can use a calculator if you so desire..it works out at £4800!

Now obviously the first team squad do not each earn £4800/wk...they are on individual contracts each based on what the club deem they are worth. Nor are all the youths on £400/wk...some who do well will quickly be rewarded with better longer contracts but the first team squad will have some higher than £2600 average eg Joe, Shinnie, May, McKenna, McGinn between £4-5k, some around the average maybe slightly higher or lower eg Logan, Ferguson ( his new contract), Devlin and some significantly lower ( young players stepping up from youths onto their first "senior" contract) eg McLennan, Wright etc.

Now if you don't get this..? I f@ckin give up!

We're assuming he'd sign a contract if offered. This next one could easily be his last one and perhaps he fancies trying something different. I dunno. That's not a prediction or anything. Just saying, the lack of a contract extention may not necessarily be down to the club/McInnes.

McInnes gets asked about Shinnie and GMS. Does anyone ever ask about Considine?

I don't think anyone asks him about Considine, or at least it's not reported.

You could be right, maybe he's been offered one year but wants something a bit longer who knows. Or maybe his current deal triggers an extension?

You just can't see McInnes letting him go when he's still contributing and you can't see Andy wanting to go.

Considine will sign what ever is put in front of him, Aberdeen loon loves the club and imaging he knows he’s on a good number here.

Will be a gentleman’s agreement
