Pittsburgh and Detroit eh? Far superior teams to the one I support. The Leafs are continually doing crap. We can't even lose properly to get a decent draft pick.

There was a wee bit of a useless information that came out yesterday.

2008 Stanley Cup Champs - Detroit Red Wings - Eliminated from 2012 playoffs 1st round

2009 Stanley Cup Champs - Pittsburgh Penguins - Eliminated from 2012 playoffs 1st round

2010 Stanley Cup Champs - Chicago Blackhawks - 1 game away from being eliminated from 2012 playoffs 1st round

2011 Stanley Cup Champs - Boston Bruins - 1 game away from being eliminated from 2012 playoffs 1st round

If I had to back a team this year in the Playoffs it would have to be a Western Conference team. Jonathan Quick has been on fire for the Kings in net, as has Pekka Rinne of the Preds and Brian Elliot/Jaroslav Halak of the Blues. Would probably go for St. Louis though if I was a betting man. Cracking young team that have a smart coach that knows his team's strengths and weaknesses.

I'll fire up some youtube videos of the best hits/fights from the 2011-2012 regular season later so people can have a watch.

The Leafs suck. Even when they don't really, they still do. :P

Ottawa Senators. Go Sens Go!!

Hard to argue that we don't suck, especially after we were meant to be a hard team to play against and we just aren't.

I've been impressed with the Senaturds this season it must be said. Good young team, hope they do well in the Playoffs. 1 more game away from knocking the Rags out too.

I used to have a Toronto Maple Leafs t shirt from when I was in Toronto many years ago.

It said Go Leafs Go on it.

Fuck the Senators, bunch of hun bastards.

for a team that was predicted to finish in very last place this season, they've done well. and with Alfie back tonight, i'm hoping for a win. but most seasons, the Sens pretty much suck too.

Haha that's true but every one of the analysts got the Senators wrong this season. Erik Karlsson has been a revelation on the D, can't believe how many assists he's had this season, his play has improved ten fold. Reminds me of a young Lidstrom!

went to quite a few canucks games this season, said i supported the bruins just to piss folk off.

dinna really care who wins the stanley cup but gan to chuck a tenner on the flyers.

Safe bet for them reaching the Finals chief, they've got a good shot at winning it with the scoring depth in the team.

Disappointing to lose to the Kings in the first round but simply didn't play good enough and Quick was immense the whole series.

He is stealing games for LA just now, been very, very good all season long and he's brought that to the playoffs. I've picked them to be favourites for the Stanley Cup in my book now as they've got scoring from all over their forward lines and the most consistent goalie in the entire league this season. I genuinely thought St. Louis were going to do the business but with Halak out now, the pressure is getting to Brian Elliot in net and it's showing.

Kings vs Flyers final, Kings to win in my book.

Looks like we did well to get 1 game off him in our series. 8-1 against the top 2 seeds in the conference is hugely impressive.

They are doing awesomely well just now, 4 lines of goal scoring and grit, epitomized by Dustin Brown. The Western teams are far more dangerous than the East and it's scaring how much momentum the Kings are getting behind them.

More stunning play from the Kings taking them halfway to the Stanley Cup.Winning all ten road games is unbelievable too.

Incredible isn't it? Jonathan Quick's numbers have been utterly phenomenal as well. I had the chance to put a bet off for the Kings to win the Stanley Cup, can't mind what site it was but 450-1 were the odds, was going to throw a cheeky tenner on it and am majorly annoyed I didn't now.

Sad to see Lidstrom retire, hell of a player and 20 years in the league with the same team, tremendously loyal talent.

Just noticed this thread!

I got into Ice Hockey about five years ago. Caught a couple of games on Fox Sports and was hooked. Over the next year I watched every game they showed (about three a week). Absolutely love the sport and probably watched more hockey this season than football.

Over the course of that first year I felt a strong bond to a particular team as they reminded me of another team I love and I've followed them ever since:

Their home uniform is red

Their away uniform is white

They had a small period of success a while ago

They haven't won anything in about ten years

The first three games I watched them in they got humped

That is why I'm a fan of the New Jersey Devils!

I've watched every game they've played in the play offs (despite some of them starting at 4am here!) and have been delighted with their progress. I really didn't think they would make the Stanley Cup Final and it's a brilliant achievement for them.

Gutted to be 2-0 down to the Kings in the series so far, but I think a win tonight will blow the series wide open.

A loss tonight and they're goosed!

My long term team the Ottawa Senators are doing the unthinkable and closing in on the Stanley cup, I hate the Pens with the same vengeance I have for the hun, Crosby is their Durrant, utter cunt. 2-1 up, home game later today, we can do this. I really only support them as a friend likes them and like the dons they very rarely win, love an underdog. But I've grown to love them and am so excited now. This would be like us winning the Champions league.

Anyway...come on the Sens, prove me wrong and win it!! :)
