Correct. If you know your scales bass is all about Rhythm. it Is clearly more difficult to be producing some extravagant lead guitar solo.

 

If you’re a good guitarist you can play bass.

Disagree. Both guitar and bass can take on rhythm and lead duties. All guitar solos are based on scales anyway . There's a misconception among guitarists that because the bass has less strings it's easier to play.

Come on SH. There’s a limit you can do on a bass. I’m far from saying it is a piece of piss but I have helped out bands before despite rarely playing bass and just going by the frets and knowing the chords got away with it. Nae saying I was fucking any good but busked it.

 

I doubt a bassist would be able to do the same with the guitar.
