And we have a winner.

 

Well, either him or David Begg... growing up they just WERE football, as between them they covered pretty much all matches for Radio Scotland. They actually sounded quite similar as well.

 

They would be my choices too. David Begg was/is also a dandy - the excitement levels when someone scored against the Old Firm compared to a Rangers or Celtic goal was always evident. Alastair Alexander had a very similar voice to David Begg so was hard to tell the difference a lot of the time, but both were superb.
