Like every other lad who was let go by AFC around that time he was deemed not good enough nothing to do with him being too small as you put it.

Being too small is what Templeton was told by us. He told a hun couple I know this a couple of years ago at Ibrox. The Sunday Times had an article about him in late 2007. Him being released for reason of being too small was quoted in the article.

David Templeton chat is completely irrelevant if we're talking about Scott Wright and youth under Derek McInnes. In saying that, it's worth keeping tabs on him as he's available on a pre-contract next month.

 

Scott Wright has bags of talent and has shown in spells what he is capable of. He is still learning the game, his positional awareness and game intelligence needs alot of work but that will come. It seems to me that he's being instructed to play in a more disciplined way; he's played very deep in a couple of games this season. This is likely the cause of a bit less end product; maybe he needs to be allowed to play with a bit more freedom. And yet it's not only Wright that is guilty of this; I've thought all season we're playing in front of teams too much and in the final third our creative players need to loosen the shackles quite a bit. Wright and Ross have big futures at AFC; I believe the latter will be a regular next season.

I did and I found you criticising McInnes for the Dons releasing a "too small" player 6 years before he joined the club.

 

Personally I found that not to be particularly relevent to McInnes not giving game time to the dross that came through our youth ranks the last few years.

I coach a kids team and one of my boys has recently had trials with an AFC Development team. His feet are magnificent, his work-rate is fantastic and his attitude is superb. He was apparently pulled out because he was "being pushed off the ball". Did the coaches say he is not "physically aggressive enough", did they say he "hides after he's been pushed off the ball", or did they say "he's too small"? Point being; it is down to interpretation and how you bounce back from it.

Out of context again. Twisting the record. If you read the post that that was responding to, it was a direct insult from him, mirrored back. Who gives a fuck? There is - was - a debate but like everything else unfortunately, people can’t read nor think with clarity.

Saying McInnes doesnt give youth a chance is absolute nonsense. Seemingly he played Ross and Harvie because it was his last game....yet he started Ross last Friday when he didnt have to. He changed it at half time and unfortunately for Ross he had to make way but the change swung the game in our favour.

 

McInnes didnt have to play McKenna against Motherwell. He took his chance and got rewarded. Wright has been rewarded after a few good performances but has tailed off a bit because hes inconsistent and young.

 

Other youngsters to play under McInnes but havent took their chance include Shankland, Murray, Rose and Smith.
