no.  it's a man's term for being sick, as best i can determine used to elicit more sympathy and to make it appear they're sicker than the average human (or female) with a cold or flu.

Incorrect.

It's a condescending female term for a man who is ill as they automatically assume he is putting it on.

He has manflu = he's winging it.

I'm not going to argue with you about it.

Women coined the term.

Men who use it are gay.

What can I say...

I do actually dislike the term. Pish created by women who kid on that they push through whatever illness they have befallen

Thinking I was tough as fuck I ignored the slight pain for the first few days. Having researched it on the net not everyone gets the extreme pain so I figured it'd "be arite".

Then fucked off to Lisbon for a wedding and either it was still fine or the alcohol was numbing the pain.

Then the last day was the worst pain of my life. Paracetamol done fuckall and I was stuck in my hotel room necking beers out the mini bar to try and kill the pain. About 2 hours sleep and cold showers constantly to numb the nerves.

Then traveling home I got fired into the wine and nurofen, helped a little.

Finally got to the doctor yesterday while still in extreme pain. Have a hardcore paracetamol and codine mix that reduces the pain but it's still nae completely gone but bare able.

It's the same virus as chicken pox which lies dormant in your body. Not had a vaccine for it, not sure if that is done over here at all. About 1/4 adults get it, normally only once in your life, two if you are even more unlucky.

So moral of the story if you ever think you are getting shingles get to a doctor ASAP. Because there is a chance you are away to feel like some cunt is stabbing burning knifes all into your back, side and stomach.

Was nearly fucking greeting haha.

That sounds totally shit.  My own body seems to be incapable of dealing with the Chicken pox virus... I've had chicken pox three times, most recently in my early 20s!  When I got it the second time, folk were telling me that it was impossible to develop it more than once!

I'd say it's inevitable that I'm in for a dose of the shingles at some point...   :suicide: Something to look forward to...

Shingles is brutal. Had it when I was about 20. Every time I moved it would hurt.

one of my mates had it really bad - spread to his face and right eye. Left scarring on his eye

a cold or similar minor ailment as experienced by a man who is regarded as exaggerating the severity of the symptoms.

It's hardly worth losing your shit over. Wifey's do this every month. This is our period.

I'll gladly and proudly state that I have man flu! Now, far do I get chocolate, pizza and ice cream?

I remember only the poorest elements of the school got rickets and stuff like that.

We just stayed away from them in case we caught it.

When some filthy mink got nits they protested that the louse are only attracted to clean hair.

Yeah OK, you smell of piss, your hair is a fire hazard and you get free school dinners and taxi to school. Haymaker to the teeth just for the cheek we would believe such drivel.

You don't give a man like Bluto a drink in those piddly little glasses. Give him the bloody bottle.
