Lewis Ferguson

Recommended Posts

Derek Ferguson has mentioned on sportsound a number of times over the years, that's he's good mates with McInnes...

... so would be easy to be cynical about this signing. Think he's 18 y/o and plays central midfield...

I would imagine that weasel ferguson has been constantly trying to get him through the doors at Murray Park over the years, so maybe not a great indication that's he ended up here! I wonder if this will end up being another Myles Anderson situation?

Agreed.

Play first team football for Hamilton or rot in hun youth structure?

Some people.

What's made you so holier than thou these days? I've noticed this increasingly...

I'm speculating, like everyone else on this forum. For what it's worth I'm fairly certain that Derek would have had his son in the Rangers youth system if he had half a chance! He was praising their decision to quit SPFL U20 league not that long ago!

... and Lewis has only been seen a handful of times for the first team!! He'll go straight into the U20s up here...

Hopefully he goes on to be a great player for the first team... but equally wouldn't surprise me if it's another Sammy Stewart or Myles Anderson situation and wee favour has been called in. I don't think that's too outrageous to suggest.

It's not exactly impossible sotr but it's a hell of a negative place to start from.

Let's just go with the more likely which is McInnes thinks the lad has a chance.

And I'll stick up for Derek Ferguson a (little) bit here too - I think he's older and wiser than you maybe credit him for, may well have advised his son to steer clear of the huns and certainly Accies is a good place for young players to develop.

I started my first post with caveat that 'it would be easy to be cynical' about this one on the face of it!

I'm sure it's as you say above, but this is AFC Chat and we're allowed to speculate! Might as well shut-up shop if we can't do that! Certainly, the scenario I presented is not exactly out of the ordinary... and wouldn't be the first time it's happened at AFC in recent years (I've provided two prime examples above).

BTW: I think you're the one giving Derek too much credit. He's a mouth piece for Rangers.... as slippery-a-character as they come!

Or is he smart enough to know how to make a few quid as a BBC pundit? (by massaging the blue egos)

Anyway... Point is that where his own son is concerned I'm not certain he'd want anything other than what's best for the lads career.

Been taking lessons from Millertime.

Or just don't post the first thing that comes in to my head more like.

He’s played 14 first team games this season. Seen him on tv and he looks decent.

I reckon his performances have impressed McInnes and assume he did well for their

development team and got promoted to the first team.

The idea that a favour may have been called in is daft, he’s here because he can play.

I expect him to be in the first team squad next season as he will learn nothing in the development squad

at his age having played in the first team as often as he has.

What attributes, from what you've seen, will he bring to our side?
