It was a disappointing transfer window for most Dons fans but there is positives to be found. Pretty much our whole first XI is tied up on long term deals but there is huge scope for McInnes to make sweeping changes if he wishes as a huge amount of the fringe players are out of contract this season.

The one in bold are who I'd like to keep a hold off come seasons end.

The rest let go / retire gracefully and replace.

The Northern Lights of Aberdeen

Are what I long to see

I've been a wanderer all of my life

And many a sight I've seen

God speed the day when l'm on my way

To my home in Aberdeen!!

The young players you mention have to be commanding a place in the 18 at least to be considered for a new contract IF they are too old for the u20s

Keeper - Rogers has to go some to earn a new contract - looks very very difficult for him
Defence- I see Joe, Robertson, Anderson and Murray all leaving as things stand and Consi staying by default because those four defenders leave.
Midfield - Storie can stay cos he's young. Robson and Masson to go. Low playing for his future and it is looking good for him
Forwards - Goodie is on trial, hope Shankland gets his chance and renews. McManus like Rogers has to go some - needs to bang in the goals (doing the biz so far) and get a lucky break to get in the team before the seasons end

So yes to Consi, Storie, Shankland. Maybe to Low and Goodwillie. The rest retire/release

Jeff Monakana - no idea yet

June
Danny Rogers - don't know enough about him
Russell Anderson - depends on this season but can see him retiring
Andrew Considine - depends largely on how good Taylor turns out to be. I would keep him as at least a good back up
Clark Robertson - never seen him get a run, mainly due to injury. Not sure I will- he must be in the last chance saloon
Joe Shaughnessey- like Considine but needs to show up well in his loan spell
Craig Murray - keep. Young lad who's looked ok and we need a deputy for Logan
Nicky Low - same as a few months ago- definitely at least a good squad player
Craig Storie - don't know
Jamie Masson - depends on loan- can see him going though
Barry Robson - as Anderson
David Goodwillie - the great unknown
Lawrence Shankland - keep- seems one for the future
Declan McManus- as Masson

2016
Jamie Langfield - thought he was June- did I miss something?!

Aye you missed him being out of contract June 2014 and being awarded a two year extension before the end of last season.

I certainly did.

I was working on the assumption he was in the last year of his contract.

How disappointing.

Even more disappointing that both Senior keepers have two year deals. so unless Rogers turns into the next casillas then were u likely to have any other keeper for a couple of years at least

Jeff Monakana - why did we sign this guy? Has he even made the bench yet?

June

Danny Rogers - don't know anything about him

Russell Anderson - probably retire, i'd keep him as a coach or something similar if he wanted

Andrew Considine - keep, but please play him CB

Clark Robertson - get rid

Joe Shaughnessey - See how he does on loan, probably keep. Never been given a fair shot at CB

Craig Murray - keep, looked good any time i've seen him

Nicky Low - keep

Craig Storie - don't know anything about him

Jamie Masson - get rid

Barry Robson - same as Russell

David Goodwillie - doesn't suit our one up top system, get rid

Lawrence Shankland - keep, give him a shot in the first team soon

Declan McManus - get rid

A couple more performances like yesterday for Goodwillie and it would be time to consider an extended contract

Can see Goodwillie being pish and not getting a new deal or excelling and rejecting a new deal. Just can't see him here next season either way!

Again, shouting for Goodwillie to get a new deal now to avoid any will he wont he as season progresses. Looking the business.

Probably Considine deserves a new contract too - good servant and a handy player to have

Monakana yet to start a game? Looks unlikely he'll extend his stay.

We have no need for Considine unless we're gonna give him a run in his position. IMO

Assuming that this is Anderson's last season, it makes sense in my opinion to offer Considine a new contract and replace Anderson with a proper left back.

Yes. Yes that does make sense.

On the basis of having Considine, Anderson, Reynolds and Shaughnessy and not one left back at the end of last season it also made sense to sign a left back and not another central defender. No left back zone at Pittodrie... Even King Jimmy snapped up top left backs like Dan Smith, Ritchie Byrne, Charlie Mulgrew and that Dutch cunt who's name I've forgotten

Nicky Low seems to have dropped out of favour for some reason. He was getting starts and was usually the first player off the bench to come on until recently.

No wonder he cleans the shitter, his judgement on footballers is on par with the fecal matter he is tasked with cleaning.

I think its more evolution than revolution thats needed now tbh.

Let Anderson and Robson retire.

Keep 2 from the 3 of Robertson, Considine and Shaugnessy.

Then bring in a quality LB.

We will also need an extra leader on the pitch once Ando and Robbo go - maybe a CM with experience and more than anything a steely determination.

I also reckon we should be cashing in on one of the older forward players if possible, we need to sell when value is high (relatively speaking) and bring through one of the youngsters: Smith, Wright, etc who are all quite capable and currently being blocked from progress by the number of good attacking players.

I think we need to take in a left back and a midfielder that can be a captain but has a bit of skill about him. Barry Robson type player but a few years younger. If we use any funds available to bring in quality players above and allow the youngsters to come through and fill the gaps I would be happy. Need to be fast tracking a young left back also.

He has had his chance. Proven to be more insignificant than useful. Time to let the youngsters have their chance now.

My views on the out of contract players, quite a lot, 13 in total, would imagine a few will have to be released:

January

Jeff Monakana - Let go

June
Danny Rogers - Sign up on two year extension to replace Langfield
Russell Anderson - See how the remainder of this season goes, possible one year extension
Andrew Considine - Sign up on a one year
Clark Robertson - Let go
Joe Shaughnessey - Unsure
Craig Murray - Unsure
Nicky Low - Sign up on a one year extension
Craig Storie - Unsure
Jamie Masson - Unsure
Barry Robson - Let Retire, his legs are gone
David Goodwillie - Sign up on a 3 year extension (NOW)
Lawrence Shankland - Sign up on a 3 year extension
Declan McManus - Unsure

Signing Shinnie on a pre-contract in January is also a must.

Reckon there is no way Monakana is getting an extension in January. Dec will twist on a different loan signing.

Biggest priority for the June list is now Shankland imo ahead of Considine and Goodwillie.

The fanfare for DG has certainly died down - dont see him getting many big offers if we do leave it off for a bit.

I'd sign Consi up for a few more years. Versatile defender that has given his all. Not necessarily as a first pick and a club like us is always gonna struggle for quality when signing squad players

A team like Motherwell or ICT would have him in a shot.. Whether lesser teams like Midden or Ross County could afford him (St Johnstone already have McFadden) he'd find a home for sure. Would like to see Shankland given his chance.
