Tord31
We need to start the next push to get Kenny McLean to sign a new deal. Also trying to persuade Celtic to sell us Ryan Christie - best for all parties that they let him move to us. £500k deal for next summer please. Christie has two years on his deal with them and is obviously with us for this year. Realistically they need to make the call by the end of the loan of whether they reward him with a new deal or let him move on for a fee. It's not the Lawell model to allow him to run down his contract. Link to comment
Andy_123
Would imagine they'll give Christie a new contract anyway. They know he's a sellable asset, and probably to someone who'd be willing to pay more than we can. That said, we should still be trying everything we can before someone else does show an interest in him, just in case Link to comment
Tyzo_1903
We should be giving McLean a bit of pressure to sign before Xmas and if he doesn't flog him in the next window. Alarm bells already sort of ringing that he hasn't signed up yet when we have all our other key players signed up. We paid about £300k for him I believe, definitely shouldn't let him leave for free, especially if he's looking to do a Jack 2.0 and let his contract run down so his boyhood club can afford him. We'll wait and see what happens and if the opportunity arises later to pick him up cheaply we'll come back for him - assuming McInnes is still here by then. Link to comment
dj_bollocks
The Kenny Mclean situation is an interesting one... If he leaves to the Zombies for free you'd have to question DMc's naivety... To have a player :snake: do it once is unfortunate... Twice ? Questions to be asked... If he extends his contract to do a Hayes - everyone happy. Sell him next summer for a reasonable amount (probably same money as Hayes maybe a bit more). Good times. Buy more better players qualify for Europa League... Buy more better players... Better times... If he wants to stay good... but get your finger out... You've got until 30th November to agree to a contract. Otherwise we're going to put you up for sale in January (if we get any takers). If the Zombies get McLean and Walker on pre contracts that's shrewd business on their part, but it's what you'd expect. Lie, cheat and steal other teams best players... Sound familiar ? Link to comment
Dons79
They'll go for moult to on a pre just to piss us off as well, back to the old days nicking everybody's best players.although sadly for them that will never win them the title if they do, doomed if they do doomed if they don't ? Betty Swallicks
Just need sevco to miss out on top 2 spots in the league and win no trophies (cup exits before the final even better) once again and their old hun habit of stealing other clubs better players will fade even more. They are not the club they once were in more ways than one. Perhaps it is clear that McLean is not gonna sign a new contract but DM has assessed the situation and decided that it would benefit the team more to keep him for another year than accept the pittance that Rangers react willing to pay. Why is the assumption that only the Zombies would bid for him ? I'm sure DMc did his due diligence but it would be extremely naive not to cash in if he isn't going to resign... 1 million quid gets you two McLeans.... or a Christie and an up and coming talent... Old school Rangers were happy to pinch the best of the rest of Scottish football and if they had any sense they'd do that now... but instead he'll probably bring all his Portuguese chums who won't settle well in the Weeg... So we'll see what happens... Link to comment

SupportmeansSUPPORT
https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1511931/aberdeen-mark-reynolds-pittodrie/ I'm sure everyone will be delighted to see that fans favourite Mark Reynolds is expected to sign a new 2 year contract extension this week. Tord31
Suggests it's a two year extension i.e. a new three year contract which is a big call to make at this point A one year extra would be less surprising Link to comment
boboisared
Reynolds is still a good back up in my opinion. I think he's past his best as a starter though. Seems like a good pro to have around the club too. Link to comment
BWG
Reynolds is possibly prepared to play for peanuts whilst he finishes his qualification at RGU. In which case he's fine to have about the place, as the king would say. Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
Reynolds has been a great servant to the club. Hopefully his wages are heading down the way though because he's certainly not the player he was when he signed his current deal about 4 years ago Link to comment

Dave Bus
Reynolds is no longer Aberdeen quality, think he could do a job at the likes of Motherwell but definitely not worth giving a new contract 1 Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
Get Wright in for extension talks ASAP. This lad needs to be tied down on a long deal like Mays.He is the perfect replacement for Christie when he goes & has potential to be better. Link to comment
