Head of recruitment

Recommended Posts

Any news on progress for this or is Tommy Johnston the only candidate ?

is this the potential “ announcement “ before Thursday as previously mentioned

This if happens seems to be chairman cormacks modus operandi , time will tell if it’s a successful process

however he couldn’t be worse than Richardson’s record

We are going through a prawcess to find the suitable candidate. It’s Tommy Johnston’s to lose. Very similar to the Glass situation.

I'm not convinced by the structure we've got in place.  Or more accurately, some of the people within it.

The org chart they flashed up at a previous q and a showed that both the manager and the head of recruitment reported into Gunn who reported into Cormack.

Should Gunn really be in charge of the two most important people in the football operation?  I thought he was an hr systems guy?

Everybody assumes that Cormack knows what he is doing. But does he know how to build the football side of the business? I'm not sure we've got anyone with a track record of doing that in the leadership team.

I'm all for giving young guys with a talent a chance to progress but I'd like to see someone in there with a track record as well.

We seem to be top heavy with people trying to call shots at the club.
I suppose we are trying to be different from how we normally conducted ourselves and it may be down to having Cormack doing as little as possible whilst the club funds others to do work for him.
The real answer to the question of if the structure is successful will be at the end of the season.

I like Wicks who comes across as a decent chap but he seems to have a narrow remit. Talking about better pies and painting some cartoons around Pittodrie seems to be the extent of what he's been allowed to showcase.

I just find Cormack and Gunn a bit smug when we've done fuck all yet.

Well if he’s copying the Atlanta model, he might want to think again.

If you read Atlanta threads/forums etc, they slag off everything from Darren Eales (president) to Bocanegra (technical director?) to the now departed manager as of today.

They call it “the front office” over there & don’t like the way it’s being run.

I was going to suggest trying to get Martinez on loan from them but that will be a now near impossible situation since they have sacked Heinze.

Ach I'm trying not to be a negative cunt but hopefully someone knows what they're doing in there.

Will be better once the football starts and we can see what we're dealing with.

On Thursday night on here we'll either be winning the league or every one of them will be useless fuckers.

Such is life following Aberdeen

Has he been sacked already?

They've been shite though to be fair.

Wonder who their next manager will be?  Will they promote the current B manager or bring in someone with a name?

Yes, sacked with no mucking about. They might come to us and take Glass as they supposedly liked him as a young coach.

Josef Martinez? who has scored 74 goals in 88 appearances and is getting looked at by inter for lautaro martinez direct replacement, him, the boy who’s on 3.8 million dollars a year. Aye cause he will be choking to come to Aberdeen.

It won’t be happening (Martinez) so don’t get your knickers in a twist. Good player though. He is the type we should be targeting from Atlanta. Think big.
