Wasn't what I was asking tho...I was wondering if you fade the public?

Depends, when I do bet the spread I'd probably be against them, good thing is there's plenty of info out there now especially on the money in vegas, the books over there are happy to release the money % on teams and the amount of tickets on the teams too which can be a nice guide especially in the big match ups.

Fuck me you live in your own bubble. If you were such a good gambler you wouldn’t be living with mummy approaching your thirties

I'm not a good gambler, never said I was, I've improved massively and it shows, last NFL season I made more money than I had in the previous 4 seasons before and this season I've already made more in 7 weeks than I did in the previous 5 combined so it's clear that things are going in the right direction.

Genuine question @@minijc. Is there a back up plan or something else you’ll turn to if you go on a bad run or decide the gambling is no longer viable in sustaining you?

I don’t know you obviously so I was unsure if this is a sideline on the back of a ‘normal’ job or if this is how you make you living.

I like a bet on the football every week, and occasionally horses etc. but it’s a hobby and something that gives you an interest and a bit cash in the hip for a few extra beers. Can’t get my head around doing it for a living. I know you study and have other sources providing you info but you’re at the mercy of random acts of luck or misfortune at any given time, regardless of the form book.

Genuinely interested.

Pittsburgh -8 might still be worth it, the Browns defense has been on the field a ton. Have gone to OT in 4 games & played more snaps than any other NFL defense by 34. Now visit Steelers after playing season-high 95 snaps (includes penalties) in Week 7. PIT is coming off its bye.

Feel sorry for Mayfield getting picked up by that shower of shite. Would love someone like that to replace Breesus.

I've got a couple of things I'm working on that can be done on the side of betting, completely unrelated to it but doesn't take up much time or resources.  I started gambling when I was 14, it wasn't until I was about 21 or so that I started to take it more seriously, 24/25 when I started to put the real time and effort in, it helped that I was watching 80% of the horse races each week so you start to pick up on things and it was nice picking up some nice singles or trebles on a weekly basis that topped up my wage from the job I worked at the time.  Last year I got mega lucky quit my job then 2 months later had my biggest win (non sport) which gave me the bankroll to focus on this full time which I've done since Jan but it was really the week of Cheltenham where things picked up in terms of volume of bets and stake size, it wasn't easy but I made a profit for the week, I then built on that for the rest of the month, I'll bet on almost anything sports wise, I'm fortunate that I know a great darts bettor, some fantastic football, cricket, NBA and NFL guys that throw me a bone or we'll bounce bets off each other, know some guys that are well connected in horse racing that put the odd one my way, those bets don't always come in but I never give the guys any abuse as I realise it's a long game.  As for the random acts of luck or misfortune I've got plenty of bad beat stories that I could share but also got my fair share of good fortune where bets have landed when they shouldn't have, one of my favourite ever bets was the Queens speech to be the most viewed TV show on Christmas day a few years back, 100/1 and 20/1, made a few quid off of that eventually after Bet victor realised they were wrong and paid out.

Cheers. Appreciate the response. Interesting to see how the randomness, good or bad, can impact on whether it’s something that is viable to do as a way of making a living. I guess you have to have that pot of money to start with and work from there.

Not necessarily. 10 quid to a grand was well on the way first time round.

Better deal for Oakland, who now have 3 '19 first rounders.

Why trade away a first rounder for a non blue chip player, who isn't going to help you win a championship, he might help in the short term take the top off defences but its a classic Jones move.

Disagree totally. Let's remember just how good Cooper was his first two years in Oakland. He has a brilliant upside and is only 24 years old. Look at the recievers taken in the first round of late, would you take (m)any of them over Cooper? I wouldn't.

The only issue to me is that he'll be due to be paid at the same time as Dak and Zeke...

My issues would be:

That he averages less than 50 yards per game since the start of 2017.

That his drop rate last season was equal worst amongst qualifying WRs

That he is due to get paid 13.9m next season

As regards 1st round WR - Cooper was taken 4th - is he giving you 4th pick production. (22 280 1)

Will Fuller - 27 379 3

Josh Doctson 11 110 0

Corey Davis 30 395 1

Mike Williams 17 308 4

John Ross 000

DJ Moore 13 191 1

Calvin Ridley  27 392 6

He's middle of the road in 1 round drafted wrs let alone overall...

Ridley looks impressive. It's early though. I'd take Cooper over everyone of them.

Also factor in how badly Dallas need an outside threat to free up Zeke and other WR's and it's a really good trade IMO.

Fair enough, but remember you said 1st round pick WR, the vast majority of the quality WRs in the NFL were not 1st round picks, it tends to be a boom or bust position.

All I'll say is this, CBS Sportsline's win model, had his acquisition making 0.00% difference to Dallas' ability to win games this season.

And they gave up a first rounder for him.
