Chewie37
This is literally McInnes' only tactic. It does work if the crosses are quality, but we could do with the odd different idea. We get pens or/and goals when our players run at the defence into the box. Most Premiership defences can’t handle it. We’re too slow and laboured when we try and pass the ball around although there were glimpses of some quicker passing moves in that first game? Link to comment
Ramandu
Thought there were some decent passing moves in the first leg, which hopefully bodes well for the next few games. Early days yet. 1 Link to comment

Obviously Terry Taylor now at Wolves and Archie Mair at Norwich. One or two others at lower divisions including Nath Meres who's signed for Cove after a year at Dundee Link to comment

thedandydon
Find it a bit odd that we chose yet again not to give some of our first team a run out in a friendly. Surely the like of Bryson, Ojo, Wilson, Main, Wright etc would benefit from the extra match practice? Even playing 30-45mins would be beneficial. Could understand it if it was played on a Mon or Tues night where recovery time would be an issue but if they’re being considered for the first team they should be able to cope with playing twice a week. Pretty apparent those guys are short of game time and using the Europa ties as our sole pre-season (once they began) seems short-sighted. Link to comment

The likes of Wright and Main could certainly have played 45 minutes Taking no chances with injuries is obviously the theory to the detriment of minutes/fitness Link to comment
thedandydon
More than likely the reason but certainly in the case of our strikers who’ve barely featured so far it would be an opportunity for them to make a case for themselves by hopefully knocking in a goal or two and adding some competitive minutes. We’re not really sure what to expect from Main and Wilson as they’ve only been used sparingly and we’ll only now be able to judge them on whatever time they get once the season starts. Bryson looked well off the pace when he came on last week and probably wasn’t expecting to play for so long but again, no match practice won’t have helped. Can’t do much about it now though.
