Where Are They Now

He moved because he was pushed.

Mcinnes defensive attitude didn't fit with his ideals.

Prefers strikers who don't score.

Sam Cosgrove has 10 in 10, meanwhile Rooney has failed to score in 6 League 2 games this year.

Our problem is that it's mainly our only striker thats scoring and we could do with some more goals from midfielders

Rooney was on a downwards spiral the season before he left. It was good timing for everyone, he gets a big pay day and we get rid of him before the rot sets in.

Yeah have to agree that Rooney wasn’t looking as effective in his last season. Is he not struggling at Salford this season so far?

McLean played really well I thought. He's kicked on since he left.

Was some header from him like

Mclean was always going to improve with better coaching A very talented midfielder who we are missing more than any other. Interesting that the Mcinnes manufactured midfielder Shinnie is getting nowhere away from Mcinnes

Correct was a great player for us. Strange how it took him so long to get going with us at times tho

So McLean is where he is because he's got better coaching and Shinnie isn't getting a game cause of McInnes?

McInnes improved McLean a fair bit. It's not a fair criticism to suggest otherwise.

I've always wondered whether it was McInnes or Shinnie that wanted the midfield thing the most.

I assume McInnes as Shinnie has never really spoken much about the change of position

I believe it was Shinnie that pushed for the change to midfield. Mcinnes wasn't happy at first but soon grew to like the idea and was happy to play him in that role.

Another clearly benefiting from McInnes excellent coaching. I mean what did he ever achieve before he spent 6 months learning from Deeko?

He also played for the Gonzaga University Bulldogs in Spokane, Washington from 2002 to 2003. He brought a different style of football to Spokane, the likes of which Bulldog legends Steve Owens and Trevor Conrad had never seen.
