Yes it's 44 miles there and back down the single track road, but I started off from my home which is 8 miles from the start of the single track road.
So the total distance was 60 miles.
Longest distance I have done before was about 50 miles a few years back.
Legs are like David Murray's today.

E-Bike arrived on Friday, couple of shortish runs on Friday and Saturday and then a decent (for me) this morning, 20 mile run out to Garlogie, down to Culter, along North Deeside Rd, up Springfield Rd, round Hazlehead Golf course and home.

Tomorrow, out to Banchory and back, along the Deeside Way. That’s if my legs have recovered as the’re gie sair right now.

Ended up going for a Hardtail E-MTB and happy I made that choice as it’s still good on the tarmac, yet slices through all the mud on the forest tracks.

You don't give a man like Bluto a drink in those piddly little glasses. Give him the bloody bottle.

Went for a cycle up Britain's longest dead end road today. 60 miles in total from my home and back, the single track road was 22 miles both ways. Was cracking weather getting there but bit of a struggle on the way back out of Kinloch Hourn, road is steep as hell for about 4 miles but then thankfully levels out after that. Legs are a bit fucked now.20200613-151929.jpg

Did you cycle into Barrisdale Bay, Knoydart?

Did the 3 Munro's in there a few years back and I remember the path along Kinlochourn being brutal, especially when heading back to the car after a mammoth day on the hills.

Geoff Tipps: Well, things finally started going my way ladies and gentlemen. In 84 both our mothers got badly sick, mine, thank God, she got better. But yours DIED didn't she Mike? Didn't she?[Mike, in great pain and sorrow nods]Geoff Tipps: Yeah, I won that. At least I won the mums!

Didn't venture further round onto the path, just stopped to have lunch at Kinloch Hourn before heading back up the road.
Was a real struggle for the first few miles heading back out of Kinloch Hourn up the hill.
Have been a wee bit along the path many years ago to do a bit of mackerel fishing, worst midges I have every experienced in my life down there.
Might try another bash at cycling the Great Glen Way from Inverness to Fort William this summer. Tried it about 6 years ago but flaked out after 50 miles, legs had totally went on me.
The stretch from Inverness to Invermoriston wasn't very enjoyable apart from the stunning views down the Glen. From Invermoriston to Fort William it's pretty flat and easier to cycle on.

Nice 40 mile round trip along the Deeside Way yesterday on the E-Bike. Nice.

Cheating it may be, but if it gets me to places that I wouldn’t ordinarily be able to get to, then I’ll take it.
