Indeed.

7 straight ODI defeats for England.

Australia have a fantastic ODI team, Falconer, Finch and Maxwell are great to watch.

Big lads that can smash the ball... add warner to that list of spectacular players. When you have that power you're never beaten. The test team would be in good shape if they can find a few more finesse batsmen.

A few good bowlers still to come back too.... Pattinson and Cummins.

Falconer was part of Ashes test squad, but never player, certainly one for the future.

He scored a ton in India a couple of months ago, 57 balls, the fastest by an Aussie.

Maxwell was the most expensive pick at the recent IPL, a cool $1Million.

It's a joke, much more deserve this treatment than he does, England will soon be back to what they were years a go, a joke side with no quality in it.

Decent game in the big bash this morning, Scorchers posted 193/5 but then the rain hit, ended up meaning that the Sixers had 5 overs to get 54 runs, the young lad Cummins had a superb over bowling, two wickets, the final will be a cracker on friday morning.

Wow! Even though he's arguably the most talented player of a generation, I think this is the right decision for England. They hit rock bottom in Australia and they might as well start from scratch again. You need a few experienced player to bring through some of the youngsters - but one thing Pietersen most certainly is not, is a good role model.

When flowers got his jotters I thought Pietersen had won. Didn't expect both to get pumped out.

I'd go for it, the crowd will be mental I imagine, if you get a chance watch the over from Cummins, he totally sold Smith, shortened the length got twated for 4, next one, full and straight and took the bails clean off, was hilarious.

He is obviously still pissed off at losing the captains position years ago, you can see by his field position he is not there giving Cook help and advise, he is clearly out of the England inner sanctum, and from England point of view, they would do well to give the vice captaincy to KP to see if that would help.

So it turns out that KP wanted to play in the slips but Cook didn't want him to be there and there was only one small falling out which the media blew totally out of proportion and hung him out to dry, shambles.

Anyone else read that joke statement from the ECB yesterday, what an utter shambles they are turning in to, regardless of their decision they shouldn't say it's a closed matter then release that statement having a go at Piers Morgan.

What did it say? Embarrassing if the ECB have, as you say, reacted to something said by Piers Morgan, of all people!

It has been a matter of great frustration that until now the England and Wales Cricket Board has been unable to respond to the unwarranted and unpleasant criticism of England players and the ECB itself, which has provided an unwelcome backdrop to the recent negotiations to release Kevin Pietersen from his central contract.

Those negotiations have been successfully concluded and whilst both parties remain bound by confidentiality provisions the ECB would like to make the following comments.

The ECB recognises the significant contribution Kevin has made to England teams over the last decade. He has played some of the finest innings ever produced by an England batsman.

However, the England team needs to rebuild after the whitewash in Australia. To do that we must invest in our captain Alastair Cook and we must support him in creating a culture in which we can be confident he will have the full support of all players, with everyone pulling in the same direction and able to trust each other. It is for those reasons that we have decided to move on without Kevin Pietersen.

Following the announcement of that decision, allegations have been made, some from people outside cricket, which as well as attacking the rationale of the ECB’s decision-making, have questioned, without justification, the integrity of the England Team Director and some of England’s players.

Clearly what happens in the dressing room or team meetings should remain in that environment and not be distributed to people not connected with the team. This is a core principle of any sports team, and any such action would constitute a breach of trust and team ethics.

Whilst respecting that principle, it is important to stress that Andy Flower, Alastair Cook and Matt Prior, who have all been singled out for uninformed and unwarranted criticism, retain the total confidence and respect of all the other members of the Ashes party.

These are men who care deeply about the fortunes of the England team and its image, and it is ironic that they were the people who led the reintegration of Kevin Pietersen into the England squad in 2012.
