Tims paid £550k for him according to his Dons hating father.

I'd be happy for one of our lot to spend up to that many pounds to make him a Don.

Or a season long loan will have to suffice.

Season long loan is no use.

Definitely lose him for 4 games, probably 6.

Unless an unlikely deal can be struck with Brenda to allow Christie to be able to play against his parent club.

A season long loan even if he cant play against Celtic would be better than nothing. How handy was it having him last night?

Sure Caley will also have a 10/20% sell on clause so doubt the tims would sell him to another Scottish team for same as they paid when they can likely sell him down south (just because he's a Celtic player) for more.

His valuation if he played for any other side in Scotland other than them would be a fraction of the price they can ask/hold out for.

Celtic will be signing two decent midfielders in the summer, pushing Christie even further down the pecking order. Yes he'll be on big bucks at Celtic but so would have McGinn have been, didn't stop him coming here

Yes but McGinn didn't come here straight from Celtic.

I think Christie probably still has unfinished business there and its clear Brendan is happy giving chances to guys like McGregor etc

So Christie could come back into their match day squads if they ship out a few of the older guys who are just cannon fodder such as Commons and GMS. I'm sure there are more too.

He's not really kicked on at Celtic though and he's started something like a half dozen games for them in 2 seasons so wouldn't be completely unrealistic for his next contract to be for a bit less.

Why he'd want to do that half way through a contract rather than at the end, I'm not so sure though.

He`s probably on double the wages we could afford to pay him.

Try four times the wages.

Peter Lawwell wanted Aberdeen to pay the full whack, and the Dons were ready to withdraw the loan deal. Brendan Rodgers stepped in and convinced Lawwell to let Aberdeen pay whatever they could afford because the money wasn't an issue, he wanted him to play games, and big ones at that.

Rodgers rates him highly, he won't be for sale (I would highly doubt it anyway). However, an extended loan wouldn't surprise me as Christie is still a year away from breaking into the Celtic team regularly.
