No such thing.
That’s Championship Manager stuff.

As long as the appearance bonus is higher than the weekly wage it's close enough

Halkett won't want to be playing Championship football next season... Neither will Souttar... If The Farts are going down there's defo some cherry picking to be done...

And we're not going to get any better players without being much shrewder in the transfer market... Sell McKenna and Cosgrove and Ferguson if the decent offers come in and buy the best young talent that Scottish football has to offer (More Kennedy's, Ferguson's etc) and get ready to sell them in 18-24 months. You want money to buy better players ? Sell sell sell...

Souttar's just ruptured his achilles for the second time in under 12 months. Won't be seeing him till next season is well underway so no matter what happens, he won't be rocking any boats. Halkett? Looks like we dodged a bit of a bullet there so far. Underwhelming is about the best you can say of him in a Hearts jersey.  FWIW....I think they'll escape relegation somehow. They should have enough about them to do so by their own steam. If not....world events might conspire to save them.

Hearts won't go down.  There is enough fire power there to keep them afloat.

Halkett has been atrocious this season.  So error prone it's unreal.  I think that must have flown under the radar at Livingston... but he's been exposed this year at a bigger club.  The boy would be absolutely slaughtered by our support if he'd played like that for us!

It's interesting though... How much has his progression stalled with different managers ? And having to play with Berra for most of the first half of the season... There's a player there...

He is a threat for a goal but he is a bomb scare at the back, just look at the goal last weekend as a prime example of his defending.

I thought that a few months back but now I wonder. They are absolutely terrible still and the other teams are managing to pick up points. At best they manage 11th and a playoff.

With this Corona shite we'll probably end up with a 14 team league next year anyway... Because the SFA and SPL that's why...

I wonder if Aberdeen would go for any of the Hearts players if they went down. I don't think any of them including Hickey would get into our squad. We might go back in for Boyce though.

Hickey would be too much £££’s.

Hearts would need to slash their wage bill.
The likes of Naismith, Halkett, Smith, Washington, Boyce... all will be on massive wages.
I still get the feeling they might sneak out of it.
Maybe need the play off

Aye Hickey is a £3million asset to Hearts. And would walk into our side.

For sure they'd need to slash the wage bill if they took the drop.....but unless they've inserted clauses into their players' contracts that reduce their salary by a certain percentage (which I'm fairly sure they haven't) then they're sitting with a massive squad mostly on long term cast iron contracts. A fire sale might ensue...but those players are under no obligation to move anywhere if they don't want to. I still can't see Hamilton finishing above Hearts, presuming the season does actually finish but it would be hilarious if they could

Why would you assume they haven’t done that? It’s pretty common practice to have a clause like that.

They have. Was reported just the other week that all but a few of players have relegation clauses in their contracts.

would assume the only ones that don’t are the likes Naismith & Boyce maybe one or two others. The types that would never agreed to have signed for them with a wage reduction clause for relegation.

highest earners as well most likely :)

Chairman Ann Budge said in December that "the majority" of players' contracts do contain relegation clauses, and further cuts to one of the largest playing budgets in Scotland would be inevitable in the event of relegation.

Purely because I didn't think established internationals like Naismith, Washington and Souttar would tolerate signing such a contract. Same with Boyce who joined up knowing Hearts were rock bottom and relegation was at least a possibility. But hats off to Granny Budge if she's succeeded in doing so.

They have to, like bigotry and hacking, relegation is in their DNA.

And yet some people STILL use the rhetoric that Hearts are "The Third Biggest Club In Scotland".

They won't even be the 3rd Biggest in Edinburgh at this rate.

When will the next transfer window be? Will there be one in 2020? There can't be if clubs argue to complete this season

Well the transfer window shouldn't exist as at all tbh.

But I see no reason it can't just be whenever it's fucking needed and going to fit in.

I hope he signs an antidote first to inject into the present team and a big one for himself, there’s been a virus hanging around pittodrie the past year plus.

Concacaf clubs are on FIFA 20. So those obsecure clubs are getting some pub. Ecuador, peru, bolovia, paraguay... etc even old man roque santa cruz is still playing.

Some of these clubs might be strapped for cash which could really tank the market. Hope Aberdeen can take advantage.
