Aberdeen sack Derek McInnes

I still think he's doing a very good job.

However, last 2 home games against the old firm have resulted in 8 goals conceded. This is after he instructs the team to 'pick and choose' when to press.

I remember him saying last season we had the fittest team in the league, but in the last 5 mins of the game last night we looked dead on our feet- see Defoe goal.

Why can't we implement a press, at home, for 90 mins? If we have the fittest team in the league? That very much annoys me. We sit off and allow players like Forrest, Kent whoever to run at us.

The first half last night we had Logan chasing Kent across the pitch, which suggests to me a lack of organisation. The defensive line at the FK made the offside decision before the penalty harder than it should have been.

I completely understand when you're up against it in Glasgow, how you should sit in and frustrate the opposition sides, but at home, in front of a full house, we always seem to surrender any urgency and direct play through absolute fear. That's my big complaint under McInnes. The negative tactics in these games has failed to work more often than they've worked. I feel like last night we should've been coming away with at least a point.

I thought we looked a good bit stronger and more energetic than them for most of the second half , and especially in the closing stages.

The only time I saw anyone looking dead on his feet was their fourth goal when Shinnie just made no attempt to go after Tavernier as he moved infield. But it's no wonder that Shinnie had nothing left in his tank by that stage

I thought the worst decision McInnes made last night was bringing on McGinn. We had them on the ropes , but I think we lost a bit of momentum with McGinn as he tends to slow things down
