Still too long to go to make any predictions (we have 17 league games remaining).

 

We go to Parkhead at the beginning of March and after that there are only 9 league games to go. If by the end of that game we are still within 3 points then I'll start believing that we truly have a chance to challenge for the title. Because by then we will have played Sevco, Celtic, Hibs, Killie & St Johnstone 3 times each in the league. Until we get to that point then as always at this time of year our best hope is the SC.

 

For now let's just get most of our injured players back for the resumption of the season in 3 weeks time, make a couple of good signings to improve the squad and hope that James Wilson maintains the form he showed on Saturday.

Arguably two of the biggest and toughest transfer windows for Mcinnes in his time here.

 

Jan - Squads needing a major boost. Now no proper left back, midfield is a bit short in the middle and also a chance we might lose McKenna to big bucks.

 

Summer - Losing GMS and Shinnie likely and not really going to have the cash to replace them like for like. Squad is needing a major overhaul with a lot of your Tanseys, Forresters etc needing punted.

Agreed but I think there are still too many games to go for us to be considered a serious threat to Celtic just yet.

 

I mentioned earlier that by the time we finish playing Celtic at Parkhead in early March if we are still within 3 points or so then we have to be seen as a genuine threat as there would be less than 10 games to go by that point.

 

But I agree McInnes should be thinking to himself that Celtic are as vulnerable as they have ever been under Brenda and that Sevco are beatable as we've already shown nothing to fear there. He needs to be thinking that a couple of decent signings and a bit of luck with form and injuries and we could win the whole damn thing.

6pts at the split (probably 5 given the goal difference) are contenders If, unlike the last 3 years all are capable of taking points off each other. 3 points or less and that’s real contention right there. That should be our goal.
