Transfers News For The Inferior Teams

Recommended Posts

He will be good if he's still the same player he was at Ross County.

McInnes went very hard after him when he was leaving County...  he obviously opted for England, but clearly hasn't worked out for him down there.  I'm very surprised, given McInnes track record, that we weren't interested...

Didn't see eye to eye with Darren Ferguson so that's why they are letting him go.

I suspect we would have been interested if we hadn't already signed Vyner. But at the time we were short in defence and needed someone in quickly Vyner was available whilst Naismith wasnt. Ten days later Pboro signed a 2nd right back and he was told he could then leave but by that time we had already used our budget and had covered the vacant position in the squad.

Interesting.  Hopefully we are well positioned to make a move for him at Christmas, or next Summer.  Would be an excellent replacement for Logan.

A real head scratcher he was... Why did they persevere with him?

Just one of those football mysteries that will ne'er be solved.

He was the gift that kept on giving when he played against us for Hibs too!  I'd love him to come back!

In answer to your question - if you removed the lapses in concentration, brain fades and comedy errors, you'd have a really good footballer there. Celtic probably thought they could iron those out, and smooth off some of the rough edges. Having said that, on his day I've also seen him turn in the odd blinder.

Is this 17yr old Reagan Thomson of Queens park any good? Any relation to Stephen Thompson?

huns & Newcastle after him & apparently (bbc gossip section) Newcastle are currently out bidding Huns with a £35k bid.

worth a look? We can easily match bids like that for young Scottish talent. Just offer higher sell on clause % to swing it.

looked very talented when he was playing for Scotland under 17's recently. We and every team in Scotland would definitely know all about him. But he is still very young and would be a long way off being ready to play for senior team. We would probably have been tried when Queens Park were still amateur status and it was easier to sign the likes of Shankland and Ruth from them for a donation to their youth programme

If he’s any good, the current bids being thrown in are cheap.

Potentially another Lewis Ferguson on the cheap.

Maybe worth throwing our hat in on the gamble.

McInnes can use Ferguson as a good example

Lewis Ferguson was a very different story in that he was already an SPL player playing senior football every week and he had the strength and stature of someone far younger. It was a no risk signing as he had already shown he could play at senior level in the top league. This lad has a lot of potential but is much younger and would be in the same category as Ruth in that he might develop into a top player but there is a risk that he doesn't develop. Remember the likes of Storie & Bagshaw looked like top talents at the same age as this.

Depends on how much they want as to whether its worth the risk I guess.

We have paid more for young players with less proven record & less potential.

the money is very low risk, if we had any chance of signing him for the figures being bid.
