Rumours are that Mackay-Steven is the number 1 target to replace McGinn and Craig Bryson to replace Jack. Although derek has said he hopes to have a couple more players tied up before the end of the season on pre contracts.

Can see Mackay-Steven happening.

Bryson has made 30odd appearances this season, including starting both games since Rowett took over. Can't see them letting him go, and if they did, he'd probably get another gig down south on more money than we could pay.

Aye GMS makes sense. Similar player to McGinn.

Wouldn't be disappointed with that.

GMS would be a good replacement for McGinn . Could we also pay a transfer fee and get Christie back ?

He is from Thurso so I'd be bitterly disappointed if we signed him.

Although, just like Jonny Hayes, he is my pal.

GMS is still in contract until 2019, and I don't see Celtic letting him go to us tbh, unless we offer stupid money which we simply can't afford.

It looks like a non-starter IMHO

GMS when fully fit on his day is a great player but if we thought Pawlett was made of glass then fuck knows what he's made of. As mike1234 said I just can't see Rodgers selling him to us but you never know I suppose

GMS? Nowhere near good enough for us. He's Dundee United standard, nothing more.

Another vote here for being less than convinced about McGinn

I'd say Greg Stewart is the shout

After his performance on Saturday I'd be happy with Swanson being captain next season.

I dunno, his Utd form was pretty good but he's really done nothing at Celtic the last 2 seasons has he?

Has he still got it?

Comming to end of contract or not, Celtic only paid £250k for him & he's done next to fk all for them so his value shouldn't have increased really.

Clough (whilst at Sheff Utd) only offered Utd £100k for him just before Celtic nipped in for him.

He could potentially be another Kenny McLean type small transfer fee signing. Either that or season long loan.

I could be wrong but I don't think he gets much of a game.

Too injury  prone.

Don't think he was even in a weakened Celtic squad tonight.

The Northern Lights of old Aberdeen

Mean home sweet home to me

The Northern Lights of Aberdeen

Are what I long to see

I've been a wanderer all of my life

And many a sight I've seen

God speed the day when l'm on my way

To my home in Aberdeen!!

He may very well be a bottler but do not forget that McGinn is VERY similar in the bottling sense. Cannot remember the last time he made a tackle actually.

They are similar players actually. GMS is just a little bit more of a wet drip yeah but both just as ugly

Not sure GMS is good enough to replace McGinn. He has scarcely played in recent years plus as pointed out he's injury prone. Christie on the hand would be a great replacement.

Let's see what happens over the following months... still have an inkling McGinn may sign on.

I think a manager like McInnes can get the best out of him yet ( GMS).

Let's remember that McGinn was so star when he arrived, he couldn't get a game at Celtic and struggled at Brentford....

GMS has shown what he is capable of. There's a player in there.

Don't really get the hatred of GMS but it's a non-starter so it doesn't matter.
