Chewie37
Its getting to the stage where the game would benefit from a standard pay out option for all contracts - something that allows the big clubs to "cheaply" simply release all the extra players they have hanging about doing very little. A bit like the guarantees system in US sports maybe. That would free up talented players, compensate them in a standard way and get the middle-lower end of the market moving again. Otherwise the wealthy clubs are going to increasingly monopolise all the professional players, even though they can only use a limited number of them.Yeah, ridiculous money being made by kids and players that barely ever get close to the first team and we can’t compete with that! Maybe we need a Fitba Monopolies Commission Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
A more likely scenario is where the rules of ownership of multiple clubs gets lessened and the bigger leagues basically buy up clubs and leagues like ours to act as feeder/reserves for the Main clubs that cant play their full squads......Agreed. Once the training complex is built well be better placed for being someones bitch than most. 1 Link to comment

mcdougall(4)
The only way I’d expect it to change is if there’s change in FIFA and UEFA and they make a proper financial fair play rule.....unlikely. Or someone does a Bosman and destroys the system......again......also unlikely.A more likely scenario is where the rules of ownership of multiple clubs gets lessened and the bigger leagues basically buy up clubs and leagues like ours to act as feeder/reserves for the Main clubs that can’t play their full squads...... Article in the guardian today about Leuven signing a player from Sheffield Wednesday (David Hirst's loon ffs) that Leicester wanted.International compo is about 150kThe implication is that he'll end up at Leicester.Saving millions. Their owner owns Leuven. Two Leicester executives are on the Leuven board. Link to comment

Lots of potential, like. Do man City have a share in Celtic? See Patrick Roberts. Link to comment

Celtic fans can go on and on about the treble and trophy wins under him, but he will forever be tarred with the Lincoln Red Imps result. Link to comment

shut up meg
Which is nothing to do with their budgets, Lennon beat Barca Its to do with brendas inability or otherwise to play defensively The differences in budgets has probably increased since 2012 however you are correct that Rodgers arrogance stops him playing defensively. Now they know what it's like to be Hamilton the bunch of arseholes.
