Welcome Devlin

The only worry I see with regards Devlin is the fact he has had two, serious & long enough injury lay offs.

If we are fortunate enough to keep a fit Devlin we will have a very good defender on our books.

Defender we sign will most likely be right sided for this reason though.

Even though most are injured at moment, I think pretty much every senior defender in our squad (other than Logan & Devlin) are predominantly left sided.

Good interview with him on the club site. I've really taken to him.

EDIT: Did not realise that he was another who was with us in the youth set up before being let go.

Hope he keeps up the promising start, he looks the business so far.

I note the article mentions Peter Weir. That's not the same Peter Weir that was part of the great 80s team is it? I had a scout of that name from the club approach me a good few years back about one of the young boys that played in our team, but he was a wee old guy.

When I saw Peter Weir at the Gothenburg 35th reunion this year, he looked like Tam Cowan's old man.

Who said his passing was poor on Sunday?

Lol

His passing was fantastic. The only mistake I remember him making (other than not taking Arfield out in a revenge tackle) was when he took his eye off the ball & let it go by him just before he more than made up for it with the dink up that lead to the goal.

Devlin was probably easily MotM

I don't think we'd have signed him had he avoided his serious injury. There was a fair bit of interest in him from English clubs prior to this injury.

Devlin and Ferguson have the potential to be great signings for us. Both young hungry players eager to get better who have a great attitude and appear to show no fear of the bigger teams. We need more of their sort. Airfield completely shitting himself when confronted by a snarling Devlin was a thing of beauty. He's definitely an improvement on Arnason and O'Connor.
