Why fish in the English lower leagues when there is better talent locally?
Our best signings in recent years have been, debatably,McLean and Ferguson from St Mirren and Hamilton respectively.
That approach coupled with developing our own talent would surely be the way to go.
If we note two of the great successes in this year's English Premier Andy Robertson would have been available from Queen's Park back in the day and Ryan Fraser was raised by Aberdeen.
In conclusion why do we not trawl the Scottish market more and combine that with a continuation of developing and introducing our own youth?

We paid fees for McLean and Ferguson. Robertson turned us down as he had already agreed a deal with Dundee United.

Maybe the upcoming sell out crowds for the birds team and their champions league prize money can pay for it

Good positive thinking for a change NEM. :thumbup1:

I was thinking more if they say they are happy to let his deal run down then clubs might offer more. If clubs try and take advantage by offering a lower amount, of which they will lose 20% of anyway, Bournemouth might be of view they are as well keeping him.

Look at his stats for this season. No guarantee a replacement would give them that. Bournemouth are potentially looking at it the same way we did with Cardiff and Hayes.

He sure won't be anywhere near the Norwich first team? I suppose he will make more money not playing there than here.

Probably didn't improve the chances of keeping him here once Lewis signed a 5 year deal anyway.
