  1. The diving, throwing his arms up in the air when he doesn't get free-kicks and unwillingness to press with any intensity or track back have probably cost him his Aberdeen career. It's a shame because he's technically good enough to be a 10-15 goal a season player in Scottish football. Suspect we'll try to recoup as much money as we can from Emmen as part of a permanent deal.
  2. Talking about us again. Nothing that out there, doesn't see the sense in Thelin arriving in the summer. www.footballscotland.co.uk/spfl/scottish-premiership/jimmy-thelin-aberdeen-summer-appointment-29104087 Still no big reveal about Cormack and how much of a supposed nightmare chairman he is.
  3. Three draws and four defeats apparently. I actually would've guessed more draws than that. It's just a terrible fixture.
  4. Only won two of our last nine home games against St Johnstone. I swear these stats the BBC put out before matches are rarely anything but grim reading for us.
  5. The refereeing in this half 😂 what hope have you got when it's going on at this level.
  6. Who are the players here that the academy gurus reckon are on the fringes of stepping up to the first team? Other than Bavidge.
  7. I know it's all about execution but was this essentially not the aim of Robson ball? We will need to be adaptable in the face of a number of Scottish Premiership sides who are more than happy to forfeit possession and wait for you to make a mistake. Be some sight if neither team wants the ball.
  8. If ever there was evidence of a week being a long time in football. Came off the bench at Hampden and was crucial in ensuring we weren't down and out after 90. The following weekend he slips on his arse trying to finish into an empty net. Would be interested to see how many minutes he's actually had this season. I think there's a player there but you do wonder why he's not been given more opportunities alongside Miovski in a two.
  9. Kettlewell's comments on the red card just stupid. Means when he has legitimate criticism of bad refereeing decisions he probably won't be taken seriously. The line about MacKenzie 'charging in' and not having the right to win the ball is ridiculous.
  10. At least Pollock (not sure about MacDonald) was identified before Robson came in. Think this has been discussed quite a few times on here. Don't get me wrong, Robson ended up being shite but what he achieved last season was pretty damn good. Every bit comparable, if not more impressive, than what Leven has done.
  11. I reckon if you give him a season's worth of mainly starts he would get within 15-20 at this level. I've seen Miovski miss some absolute howlers and he's excellent. It's just the nature of the position.
  12. Tbf this is pretty much what Robson did last season. Credit where it's due to Leven for taking a team who looked like they couldn't buy a win and getting a few points on board. I think he's quite sensible, looks at the players he has and figures out how best to play accordingly. But on my original point, a lot of being a manager these days remains recruitment. If Leven was our permanent boss he could easily fck that up in the summer and be in a similar situation to Robson was this season. That said, you need a reliable caretaker at the club in modern football and he seems to be that so hopefully he stays.
  13. I think Ruby has potential but he's a classic example of how much better some players can get when they're not available for selection.
  14. I agree with this. Nowhere near enough players coming into the first team for my liking, particularly when you see the likes of Motherwell regularly throwing them in. But I wonder how much is that down to fearful managers rather than bad players? There's definitely been a fair bit of singing and dancing about the academy from the club (particularly the performances from young age groups in European comps), we've obviously made some decent fees in recent years from some academy players and Levey was headhunted by Swansea was it? That's all I've really got to go on. Maybe it does need work, maybe it doesn't, but either way I'd like to see more young players involved in the first team squad. Better that than some of the loanees we've seen fill our bench in recent seasons.
