Scotlands Useless Referees

Recommended Posts

Sums up football in Scotland, can’t admit to one mistake against huns/tims without having to balance it with one mistake against the other. There’s always pandering to both sides as otherwise you’re a Fenian/orange bastard and you get abused the rest of your days. It’s such a depressing situation.

Also, the talk about giving the managers respect etc. I would rather the game was officiated correctly without having to think about who you are upsetting first.

Andrew Dallas is the worst example of nepotism within the SFA Refs association. bang fucking average public park whistler promoted so far beyond his capabilities it's an embarrassment to Scottish football.

Who the fuck wants to be a ref anyway.

Nobody needs that shit in their life. To get to the stage of having to consider a pen or red card at Parkhead or Ibrox to the opposition, the torrent of abuse you must have to suffer at amateur/ Sunday league football is unbelievable .

Fuck that.

Been there, done that. Reffed over 1000 matches and for the most part it's ok. Have of course had the threats and abuse etc etc. Amateur level is generally well behaved, pub leagues should be avoided and parents at youth games need to just fuck the fuck off. Never did pro level but that's another story.

Yeah, notice how he came up through the divisions with Sevco.

Have any refs played at a decent level? They look like the kid at school that just loved football, always picked last, but wanted to be part of the action. Would join a boys club, wash the strips, there every training session in the dead of winter, if you even had to be outside. When saturday comes, his boots would be polished, first there. Team read out, sub, we'll try and get you on son. Meanwhile mouldy boots, who missed training, centre mid.

There was a lad like that when i was 15,16 shame.

If you get a dull one, you aint rolling on the ground, thats you, kaput, maybe a guttural noișe when you get clattered but some refs miss the point completely. They're living the dream though.

Any game involving the shit from Glasgow, get a ref from the continent who does not give a fuck about the english language and the fear that Scottish refs have. Been done before, and by all accounts they were pretty good, so that got stopped tout suite.

Sorry min but the Israeli ref we had for a match at Kilmarnock, Eli Harcon, was abhorrent and useless. If we got refs of the standard of Pierluigi Callina and Anders Frisk I would be all for it though.

Or just a ref that's played at a decent level, injury took him out of senior football, but at least he'll know what's what. We don't have VAR so they have nothing to bail them out.

Aye, a ref that has an understanding of the game and is not easily swayed would be a great start.

What, like when Ferguson fouled morelos in the box and didnt give a penalty?

Swayed like that you mean?

he wasn’t swayed.

he fcuked  up, but certainly wasn’t swayed.

he gave the foul just failed to spot it was in the box.

Talking of which, the Qatar ref on Friday fcuked up the Mane penalty claim which was a foul out of the box  by giving the other way despite reviewing on VAR

" Collum was previously the principal teacher of the Religious Education department at Cardinal Newman High School, a Roman Catholic, comprehensive secondary school located in Bellshill."

How is this man allowed to referee a game that involves Celtic?

Probably because not every catholic has an association with Celtic? Religion and football should be kept apart

The ref wasn't swayed at all, he gave a balanced decision based on the evidence he gained in a split second. We are all wise with hindsight but you take it to the extreme.

I take it you had a clear view of the incident you refer to from the South Stand that night?

Interesting theory that.

Catholic will favour Celtic or disadvantage Sevco if given their match. Equally then, Protestant will favour Sevco and disadvantage Celtic given the opportunity.

So no catholic or protestant ref for either then. What are we left with - Muslim? Preferably running around the pitch wearing a backpack shouting Allahu Akbar?
